A/N: I'm backkkkkkk! Did you all miss me? Sorry for this MASSIVE delay. Hope you all are having a great 2020 so far!
——"I got it!" I exclaimed, breaking the thoughtful silence that surrounded the group. They all perked up and looked at me with wide eyes. "What if Eleven and I seek out our siblings? Maybe they can help us with this situation."
"I know where number eight is, but I do not know of the others." Eleven stated.
"I remember number Six. He was a year older than me. The first one to make it past testing day alive. I have no idea what happened to the first five, though." I informed them. "I don't have a photo of him, but I can remember his prepubescent features like it was yesterday. Perks of being a time traveler is great memory, I guess. Can anyone draw based on descriptions?"
Robin stepped up, "I could give it a try."
Dustin smiled, "you're so hot and talented."
"You better stop talking before I knock another tooth out," she threatened.
I began to describe number Six as memories came flooding into my mind.
——
"I'm scared!" I told him while he embraced me. "What if you don't come back, like the others?!"
"Sev, I'll always come back for you. Don't worry about me." He looked me in the eyes. His mouth didn't move, but I heard his voice in my head. "We're going to get out of here, you and I. If we can, we'll take Eight and Nine with us. Don't worry."
——
"What happened to him?" Asked Lucas. "I thought you were the oldest at the time because all of the others died."
I sighed. "I was asleep until Six bursted into my room..."
——
"Sev, wake up! Sev! We gotta get out of here!" He screamed while shaking my shoulders. My head pounded but I sheepishly followed him, hands intertwined while we ran through the halls.
I heard voices behind me. They were coming after us. They weren't supposed to know about our escape. I felt a jolt surge through my body. I collapsed.
"Sev!" Six exclaimed, stopping to help me up.
"No! Go!" I screamed. "I'll find you out there, just go!" I shoved him away. He was so close to the exit. I tried fighting off the other guards.
He got away, but I didn't.
——
"Papa found a way to prevent me from traveling back to any time period that I had known Six, so that I couldn't find a way to help them all escape. My only hope is that he had a good life." I finished with tears in my eyes.
"That's so sad..." Max said, hugging me.
"Yeah... anyway, how's that portrait coming along?" I asked Robin.
She made a couple more adjustments and then held the portrait up to me. "Does this look like him?" She asked.
I gasped in amazement. "Almost exactly. Thank you, Robin. I haven't seen this face in a long time."
Eleven and I went to the basement and turned on the TV so that it was static. We blindfolded ourselves and held hands.
Back in the void. For once, I was excited to be here. Would I finally be able to see number Six again?
Eleven and I walked toward a park bench with a man sleeping on top of it. He was all grown up, and yet he still had his baby face.
Suddenly he jumped up, looking around. Without opening his mouth, I heard his voice echo through the void. "Is someone there?" Then, his gaze met mine. He reached out to touch me and my eyes started tearing up. "Sev...?" He whispered, and in an instant he disappeared.
