On Monday, I was sitting in my office and a knock pulled me away from my papers.

"Come in." I called, looking back at my papers and the door opened, Marie's voice came,

"Hey there, Stein." Looking up at her, I smiled and replied,

"Hi, Marie."

"So, I'm in for a few days to report."

"Mhm."

"Would you like to go out for dinner sometime?"

The question caught me off guard and I looked up at her, wide eyed. My office door opened and closed, again. Looking up, I saw (Y/N) with two cups of coffee. She looked at me and then at Marie, realization coming to her.

"Hey, Marie. What brings you here?" She started, walking pass Marie and to me, handing me the coffee, as she finished,

"Hey there, Handsome. You looked like you needed this." Taking the coffee from her, I smiled and she leaned down, pressing a kiss to my mouth. Pulling away, she smiled and grabbed some papers, going sit at one of the desks. Looking back to Marie, she shifted uncomfortably and she stayed quiet for a moment.

"Well, uh, I guess that answers that question. I've to go report to Lord Death now. It was nice seeing you both." Marie said, leaving quickly and closing the door behind her. Looking over to (Y/N), I raised a brow and asked,

"Really? She was just inviting me to dinner."

"I had to let her know that you weren't available." (Y/N) replied, not looking up from grading and I sighed, teasing,

"Were you jealous?"

"And if I was?"

"You have nothing to be jealous of. I don't want anyone other than you."

"...Okay."

A few hours later, we were walking out of the Academy and Marie saw us, calling,

"Hey, guys!" (Y/N) looked over at her and Marie's eyes were on me, making me uncomortable slightly. (Y/N) moved closer to me and replied,

"Hey, Marie. What's up?"

"Well, I was wondering if we could go out to lunch?"

"Lunch sounds good." Spirit's voice called, making me fill with relief and (Y/N) seemed relieved too. Marie frowned and went to tell him no, but (Y/N) said,

"Yeah. We're going to Death Cafe. Wanna come?"

"Sure."

With that we were off and Maire tried to walk next to me, but (Y/N) squeezed between us and Spirit was on the other side of me. (Y/N) and I were holding hands and Spirit was joking about how Justin was not happy that he got so little time with Lord Death.

Arriving at the Cafe, (Y/N) and I were sitting next to each other and Spirit was with Marie. Throughout lunch, I could feel Marie's eyes on me and (Y/N)'s level of irritation was just increasing. We got an outside table today, so I could smoke without having to leave the table. Marie made a face and commented,

"Those will kill you one day." Chuckling, I replied,

"Something will. What does it matter if it's from smoking or a witch?"

"One will be instantanious. The other slow and painful."

(Y/N)'s chair scraped agaisnt the concrete, loudly, and she excused herself to go to the bathroom. Watching after her, I felt my stomach lurch and Maire looked after her, saying,

"Maybe, I should go make sure she's okay."

"I don't think that's a good idea. I'll go." I said, putting out the cigarette and walking into the cafe. Walking to the counter, I put my hands into my pockets and asked the girl behind the counter,

"Could you go check on my girlfriend? She went into the bathroom upset and I know I can't go in after her." The girl smiled and said,

"Of course. Give me a moment."

A few minutes later, she came out with (Y/N) and she told me that I could get a coffee on the house.

"Thank you. I really appriciate it." I told the girl and she nodded, handing (Y/N) the coffee. Looking down at my girlfriend, I sighed and she avoided my gaze. Lifting her chin, I leaned down and pressed a soft kiss against her mouth, whispering,

"You're the only one I want." This made her relax and nod, lacing our fingers together. Heading back out to the table, Marie was gone and Spirit saw there, teasing,

"Took you guys long enough." Our food was on the table and Marie's plate was empty.

"What-"

"I had a conversation with her while you two were gone. I don't think she'll be giving you guys problems anymore." Spirit cut my question off.

"Thanks."

"Not a problem. Now, if you'll excuse me. I have to get back to the Academy." As eh went to pay, I shook my head and said,

"I've got you."

"You sure?"

"Yeah. It's the least I can do."

"Well, alright. But I've got you guys next time, promise!"

Leaving us alone, I looked at (Y/N) and she was releaxed. We had the rest of our lunch in peace and upon heading back to the Academy, I asked,

"(Y/N), how do you feel about marriage?"

"Huh? Oh. . .Well, with the right person. I think marriage is good." Smiling, I kissed her forehead and told her,

"I think I'd like to marry you, one day."
