Nathan Jones: Rise of the Frost Devil

Scene 8 "The Big Surprise"

Nathan stops a few feet from the reporters, he turns around grabbing the microphone from the reporter's hands, the reporter backs up in fear as the cameraman aims the camera at him.

Nathan Jones- "If there are any superhumans out there, this is an open invitation to you, I'm in Washington D.C. in a place called the bunker. If you can hear this... the world is going to need your help."

As Nathan goes to walk away another reporter runs up behind him.

Reporter 2- "Nathan, if you and Megan are still a thing, do you plan on starting a family?"

Nathan turns around looking at the cameras with Megan wiping her eyes, as Nathan goes to speak she cuts him off.

Nathan Jones- "We haven't planned on it yet..."

Megan Topps- "Actually Nathan, (Chokes on words) I'm pregnant."

Nathan looks at her in shock, she begins smiling as Nathan begins stumbling his words.

Nathan Jones- "I... But when?"

Megan Topps- "I have been for a month."

Nathan Jones- (Whispers to Megan) "You didn't tell me."

Megan Topps- "I was going to today after the incident in the hall with your dad."

Nathan rubs Megan's abdomen, Megan places her hand on his. People in the crowd begins clapping, Nathan looks up.

Nathan Jones- "I'm going to be a dad."

Everyone begins cheering louder as a reporter hands Nathan a Bluetooth headset with Andy's initials on it. Nathan looks down at it, his smile fades while he places it into his pocket in disappointment. He looks back up at Megan happiness.

Back at the bunker, K.J. stands in a room as Nathan and Megan sit in chairs looking at him, after a few moments of quiet K.J. begins yelling at Nathan.

K.J.- "You. (Points at Nathan) Nathan, I told you that you two shouldn't be in the same room together. What did I say huh? I said I didn't want you two sleeping in the same room, and now you got her pregnant. What if the world needs her to defend it when you can't?"

Nathan Jones- (Stands up while cutting him off) "Listen, yes we slept in the same room, but she took my bed I slept in my chair. On top of that, we never slept together, besides she wouldn't have been pregnant in just one-night dad. Did we sleep in the same room for the last few months? Yes. But..."

Nathan and K.J. look at Megan as she stands up.

Megan Topps- "What? We've been asleep for thirty years, you think I slept with somebody else?"

Nathan Jones- (Looking at K.J.) "She's right, we've been asleep for three decades."

K.J. pulls his phone out and calls Dr. Strain, a few seconds go by as Dr. Strain enters the room with an empty needle and gloves on. She makes her way to Megan and tells her to roll her sleeve up, Megan looks at K.J. with a nasty look on her face while she rolls up her sleeve. Dr. Strain draws blood from Megan's arm and walks away from the room, Megan walks to Nathan still looking at K.J.

Megan Topps- "Can we go now?"

Nathan wraps his arm around her and turns towards the door and leaves. K.J. turns his head in disappointment, a few moments go by as Nathan enters the room again, he places the headset on the table.

Nathan Jones- (Sorrow) "I would've made him the godfather."

Nathan turns around and leaves again while K.J. looks at the headset in disappointment.
