Nathan Jones: Rise of the Frost Devil

Scene 15 "Double Trouble"

Nathan jumps up in a hospital bed, he looks around seeing nobody inside. He sits up and continues looking around the room, he climbs out of the bed and falls to the floor. Megan walks in, she sees Nathan lying on the floor and rushes to help him up.

Megan Topps- (Rushing over to Nathan in a panic) "Oh my god Nathan."

Nathan Jones- "What day is it?"

Megan looks around as she sits on the bed, Nathan looks at her abdomen noticing it was bigger.

Megan Topps- "Nathan you were in a coma for a month."

Nathan Jones- (Worried) "What about the memorial?"

Megan Topps- "Don't worry about the memorial, they changed it until you were back on your feet."

Nathan looks at her with a smile, she looks back smiling.

Nathan Jones- "Megan you're not due any day? How did it get that big already?"

Megan looks down and rubs her abdomen. Nathan takes her hand and begins standing up. Megan begins to stand up and begins groaning in pain, Nathan looks at her in confusion.

Nathan Jones- "What's wrong? Megan talks to me."

Megan looks at Nathan in pain.

Megan Topps- "Nathan, it's time."

Nathan's eyes widen in understanding. He begins yelling for a doctor, he runs into the hallway and calls again. He runs back into the room as a group of doctors and nurses hurry into the room. The doctor's lye Megan onto the bed and roll her out of the room, in the hallway Nathan, Megan, and the doctors pass by a waiting room with two people dressed as pirates. The doctors put the bed, with Megan on it, in the elevator, they tell Nathan to take the steps as they head down. Nathan runs down the stairs almost tripping over his feet, when he hits the floor below him he hurries to the elevator door. The doors open as Megan groans in pain, the doctors rush the bed down the hall and into a room. Nathan tries to enter the room only to be held out by a nurse.

Nurse- "No. Mr. Jones, you need to stay out here."

The nurse enters the room and closes the door, Nathan stares at the door in worry.

After a couple of hours as Nathan paces back and forth in the hallway while he waits for news, a moment passes as the door opens a nurse exited the room and made her way to Nathan. Nathan walks to her and they begin talking.

Nurse- (Smiling) "Mr. Jones a few people wish to see you."

Nathan Jones- (Smiling) "Thank you."

Nathan walks into the room quietly. He looks at Megan who's holding two infants wrapped in blankets. Nathan smiles as he stands next to Megan, she looks up at him.

Megan Topps- "Happy birthday honey, we had twins."

Nathan Jones- "Megan, it's not my birthday."

A nurse walks up and begins whispering in his ear.

Nurse- (Whispering) "That might be the morphine talking?"

Nathan Jones- "Morphine?"

Nathan looks at a water bag full of morphine.

Nurse- "Yeah, her body just kept taking the morphine and forcing it back out. That's why we got a bag of it."

Megan Topps- "Babe come sit down."

The nurse walks away as Nathan looks back at Megan, he carefully sits on the bed while Megan hands one of the infants to him. Nathan looks a baby boy with a scar under his left eye, it was in the shape of a circle with an R in the center of it. Nathan tells a nurse whose writing in a book, the nurse comes over and looks at the scar.

Nurse- "He was born with it, we really don't know how he got it."

Nathan looks at the baby with confusion as the nurse walks away, he looks at the baby with a bit of a smile. Megan turns her head to him.

Megan Topps- "Jordan."

Nathan Jones- (Looks at Megan) "What?"

Megan Topps- "His name's Jordan Daniel Jones."

Nathan looks at the baby in Megan's arms.

Nathan Jones- "And him?"

Megan Topps- (Looking at the baby) "Oh, Nathan? Her name's Kortney Anna Jones. She's named after..."

Nathan Jones- "My mother. (Thinks) Wait for her?"

Megan nods as she looks back at the baby with a smile. Nathan stands up and hands the baby back to Megan, he tells her he'll be back. He walks out of the room and into the hallway. He heads to the receptionist desk and asks to borrow the phone, she hands him the phone and calls K.J.

Nathan Jones- "Dad."

K.J.- (Over the phone) "Nathan you're awake!"

Nathan Jones- "Yeah, we might need a second crib."

K.J.- "You're joking, right? (Sighs) I'll see what I can do."

Nathan Jones- "Okay thanks, bye."

Nathan hangs up the phone and walks back to the room with Megan and the infants when he enters the room Megan looks at him with joy and happiness with the infants in her arms. He sits on the side of the bed as two nurses enter, the nurses gently take the infants and carry them out of the room. Nathan looks at Megan.

Megan Topps- (Crying) "Where are they taking my babies?"

Nathan looks at a doctor standing in the corner while the doctor writes in a binder with paper in it. Nathan clears his throat, the doctor looks at Megan.

Doctor- (Mouths) "Morphine."

Nathan nods as he looks back at Megan, he hugs her.

Nathan Jones- "It's going to be okay."

Megan Topps- (Crying) "No it's not."

Nathan hugs her as she cries then becomes happy.
