"This'll be your room, make yourself at home I guess," I told Javier with a chuckle as I walked him to a vacant room.

He nodded and muttered a low "thanks," in response before I walked away.

"Doc!" I heard from behind me.

"Hey André," I smiled, yawning as the jet lag took its affect on me.

"I'm glad you guys are back in one piece and all, but uh-who's the kid?" He asked, pointing to the room I left Javier in.

I then realized that André had no idea about the entire situation, all he knew was there was a random teenager in the house.

"Oh shit-," I sighed, running my hands down my face.

"It's....a long story." I cringed.

"I got time." He said, leaning against the wall.

"H-"

"He's our 'son'." Clarence said from the stairs, cutting me off.

As he reached the top step him and André made awkward eye contact, the tension in the air immediately thickening.

Before we left for Mexico they weren't on the best terms, and they didn't really get the chance to make amends.

"come again?" Andre questioned.

"Rodrigo basically forced us to adopt him, we didn't get much of a choice in it,"

"How can somebody 'force' you to adopt someone?!"

"Yeah well, that's what I'm trying to figure out too," Clarence sighed.

The door to Javiers room opened causing our conversation to come to a complete halt.

He walked out timidly before speaking, "uh- where's the bathroom." He asked lowly.

"Down the hall and to your left, towels and wash cloths are under the sink." Clarence informed.

Javier nodded and followed the directions, seconds later we heard the bathroom door close.

"You don't thinks it's legit do you?" André asked,

"Honestly-no." Clarence responded.

I sat silently as I watched them speak, I was in the middle-I didn't know what I believed, I don't even know if it mattered what I believed.

Either way, I was stuck-I was still a slave, so what did it matter.

"So why is the little nigga here??" Andre whisper yelled.

"I couldn't just leave him on the streets." Clare said, shaking his head

"So were just taking in refugees now?" André pried.

"Dré what am I suppose to do huh?"

"For one, Rodrigos already made up his mind, there ain't nothing I can say that's gonna make him change his mind, two-why should I blame him for the dead beat of a father he doesn't even know he has?" He ranted.
