____"Pops!" Javier called out as he dropped his backpack on the couch.
"Yo?" Clarence responded, grabbing a towel and dabbing his forehead.
" are you busy?" Javier asked, fiddling with his thumbs.
"Nah, why wassup?" Clarence responded loudly.
Joshua finally made an appearance, walking through the back door.
"I can hear you two from outside, stop yelling and walk to each other." He rolled his eyes.
"Sorry Da'," Javier smiled, apologizing sheepishly.
Joshua nodded and hugged Javier, who was now a bit taller than him, with his own smile.
"how was school?" Joshua asked as he let go, walking over to the fridge.
"Fine," Javier responded—clearly in a rush to speak with Clarence.
Before Joshua could question, Javier quickly walked up stairs meeting the sights of the larger male, who removed his boxing gloves.
"You good Jave?" Clarence asked.
Though he might've seemed calm about it, he was anything but. If Javier said somebody did something to him then all hell would break loose.
When it came to his son, his daughter, or his fiancé —Clarence didn't think.
"Yeah I'm good it's nothing bad," Javier assured.
"I just wanted to talk about, Well—you know how you'll be gone again soon for another fight, and how you're getting pretty big in the boxing world." Javier said lowly.
"speak up." Clarence said softly—but sternly.
"Well—I don't know I was just wondering, after like—I'm done with high school and everything, maybe you could—um, I don't know—train me." Javier said timidly.
Clarence stood quietly in thought, causing Javier to become even more nervous.
"Javey!" Janeah said excitedly as she walked out of her room, her small legs running to Javier who picked her up happily.
"Hey stinky," he teased causing her to laugh.
"I'm not stinky!" She retorted.
"Really? So who's stinky—me?" Javier questioned, playing into her game.
she put her index finger on her chin in deep though before pointing at Clarence, "no, daddy stinky!" She teased.
Clarence played hurt, grabbing his chest as he look at her, "really baby girl, me?" He questioned causing her to giggle.
They all shared a laugh before Clarence spoke up, grabbing Janeah from Javiers arms, "how about you go smell Mr. Josh while me and your brother talk, then tell me who stinks." Clarence smiled.
The small child nodded happily, walking quickly down the stairs after she was lowered.
"Be careful," Clarence once again said softly—but sternly.
