Ross Point of View

It had been two days since the song for Sophie and she went back to only be my manager. So just business as usual. I really thought that the song would change her mind. I mean the way she hugged me after the concert was special. I've never been hugged like that and I've never had a feeling like this before. Why can't it just be easier? At least I hoped we would be friends by now. We were in Minnesota and today her family were coming to the show to see her. I was curious about her family. You could see that she was excited to see them. I was still watching her when she didn't notice. While I was thinking about Sophie my Mom showed up to talk to me.

"So hun, how you're doing. We hadn't had the time to talk lately. Are you okay?" she asked me.

"Mom," I hugged her, "always worried about us, right?"

"That's my job, Ross. But I think, that you have strong feeling for a certain girl, but you're also struggling with it, because it seems that she doesn't return this feelings." I just looked surprised at her. "I know you so much, Ross. I can see if you have feelings for someone." she smiled at me.

"And what do you think about her?" I asked my Mom.

"She is a good girl. But she seems to have a lot of personal problems. I just want you to be happy and when she is the one to make you happy, than I'm completely fine with it."

"But?"

"But I don't know if she is ready for you yet and I don't want you to get hurt."

"I know, Mom and she propably doesn't feel the same way, so you don't need to worry." I sighed.

"I am not so sure about that." she smiled and left me then alone.

Later that night Sophie introduced us to her family. There were her Dad, a middle-aged tall man. His name was Robert and you could see how much he loved Sophie and vice verca. Her brother Michael was a little bit protective of her, but as he warmed up with us, he became so funny. Her youngest sister Lilly was a big fan of us. She looked just like Sophie only younger. The difference to her sister was that she wasn't that serious.

You could see the love this family was sharing. I've never seen Sophie so happy before. She was talking with her Dad. I didn't want to eavesdrop, but I also couldn't overhear it.

"So daddy, how are you? Is the new treatment working this time?" she asked him. Treatment?

"Hunny, I told you not to worry." he answered.

"I know Dad, but you know that I can help you. I have this job now and it's going well. I'll help you with the bills. And if you need any help with Michael or Lilly than please tell me. You know that right?"

"I know baby girl. And I am so proud of you!" He said and hugged her tight.

What was going on there? Was he sick? Is this the reason why she keeps the distance? I knew I couldn't ask her, but I needed to show her, that I'll be there for here.
