Harry
I pushed past Dan and stood in front of Louis. Whether his dad wanted us alone or not, it was happening. Something was going on, and I didn't like it.
Louis pushed himself against a wall, shaking his head. I carefully crouched down in front of him around the chaos, reaching for him slowly. "Hey, hey, it's okay."
"Home, wanna go home," he mumbled. I froze for a second. It was the way he said it, terrified but accepting it like there wasn't another choice.
"No, no you don't. You don't want to go back to him, Louis."
He's not real, Louis signed, dropping his hands to cross his arms over his chest and make himself smaller.
I looked back at his dad, ninety-nine percent sure this was because of him. "Did you tell him Ken wasn't real?"
"He's not," his dad said simply.
"You are a complete fucking idiot," I mumbled. Louis whimpered quietly, shaking his head. I gently put my hands on his arms. "Lou, look at me. Please?" I added when he wouldn't.
"Get away from him. Actually, I think you need to go." Dan attempted to grab me, but Louis launched into my arms.
He was shaking his head, pressing as close to me as he could. His fists grabbed the sleeves of my shirt. I barely heard it, but he kept repeating "Don't go." Over and over again, he kept mumbling it.
There was a knock at the door, and the woman who ones guessing to be Dan's new wife or someone close to that went to answer the door.
"You need to stay the fuck away from my family," Dan growled. Louis whimpered into my shoulder, shaking his head.
"Lou- Harry?" Kayla questioned. I looked over at her, and I felt Louis shift his head like he was doing the same thing.
"Who are you?" Dan questioned.
Kayla gave me a weird look, then answered Dan. "I'm Makayla, Harry and Louis' therapist. You're Louis' father, right?"
"I am. Why does he have a therapist?" Dan questioned. I wanted to roll my eyes as Kayla got concerned.
"What do you mean, why does he-"
"He's telling Louis none of it was real and that he did it all to himself," I explained bitterly.
Concern was the only thing seen in Kayla. She was biting her lip in worry as she tried to think of what to do next. "Everything that's happened, was because of a man named Ken Johnson. Your son would not have been capable of doing this to himself."
"He ran away, and his mother, his sisters, you and even this boy," he said, pointing to me, "has just been feeding into it."
"What makes you think this is made up? Louis was one of ten boys that got kidnapped by Ken. You gave statements when this first happened." Kayla talked as she walked over to Louis and I, crouching down. "Is he okay with you?"
I nodded, wrapping my arms around him just a bit tighter. Kayla sighed and nodded, standing back up while pressing her lips together.
She turned to Dan and asked if they could talk privately. He hesitantly agreed, leaving us in the hallway. I closed my eyes and leaned into Louis, running my fingers through his hair.
Louis looked up slowly, his eyes full of tears. When he didn't see anyone but me, he looked less scared.
"Hey, Kayla's gonna talk to him, okay?" Louis didn't respond, still staring down the hall. "Louis?"
"I'm so confused," he whispered. It was hard to hear him despite how quiet it was.
"I know, I know," I whispered back, squeezing my eyes shut. "It's okay. We'll figure this out, I swear."
When I opened my eyes, Louis was nodding slowly. He had his lip trapped between his lips, but let it go and took a deep breath. "I don't wanna be here, H."
"Why not? What is he doing, Lou?" I asked softly. "Tell me." I pulled my phone out and started a voice recording that way if he wanted to tell anyone else, he wouldn't actually have to do it.
"He said not to-"
"You can trust me, Louis. You know you can." I brushed some of the hair out of his eyes, trying to keep him calm.
He kept his eyes down and gave two slow nods. "He was nice at first like he completely understood what was going on with me. But... the longer I was here, the less he was understanding. Then he said that no one kidnapped me, I ran off and made him up and just went insane and I was making it all up."
"Has your dad hurt you?" I asked quietly. I ran my fingers through his hair. Louis bit his lip so hard I thought he broke the skin. "Louis, just me. I'll keep you safe, just like before."
"He... he did the same thing..." Louis paused. "My dad did the same thing he did."
"He what?" I growled. "He did?" I asked much softer. Louis nodded, closing his eyes and leaning into me. "Oh God, Louis."
"He said I deserved it. " I barely made out what he said, but when I realized he did say that, my blood started to boil.
I had to take a deep breath to keep myself from saying anything I didn't want Louis to hear, and about a thousand of them were on the tip of my tongue. I kept running my fingers through his hair. Louis stayed close to my chest, his eyes still shut.
"You aren't staying here, but you have to tell Kayla what happened, Louis. She can get you out of here." Louis took a deep breath and nodded again.
"I want you out of my house!" Dan yelled. Kayla and Dan walked into the hallway and he did not seem happy at all. "I want you both out."
"I legally have to keep seeing him," Kayla explained calmly. "If I don't speak to him, he'll have to go back to the hospital."
"Either way, I want you both out!" Louis held onto me tighter, shaking. "Louis, go to your room."
"He needs to talk to you," I said to Kayla. "Like now."
"He's not talking to anyone. He doesn't talk."
"Yes, he does, but only if he trusts you," Kayla continued to explain. "Come on, Louis."
Louis started to look up to me until his dad started yelling. "He is not going anywhere and he isn't talking to either of you. Louis, go to your room, now."
I started to stand, pulling Louis up with me. I wrapped an arm around his shoulders and pulled him close to me, then walked towards Kayla. Louis tucked his chin into my chest, taking a deep breath. "I got you," I whispered. "It's okay."
"You can't take him-" Dan started to say, but Kayla was shaking her head.
"Actually, I have the right to remove him from a place that is bad for his mental or physical health, and I'm removing him," Kayla explained.
She kept Dan back while I walked Louis to the car. I drove here on my own, and I knew Kayla wanted to talk to him, so I let go of him when he was in the car.
"I have to drive my car, okay?" I told him quietly.
"No, don't leave. Please." He held onto me tightly. "Dont leave, Harry. Please."
"I can't leave my car, Sunshine. I'll meet up with you and Kayla, alright?"
"You promise?" He asked quietly.
"I promise. I promise I'll be right behind you, okay?"
Louis nodded, slowly loosening his death grip on me. I kissed the side of his head and smiled, waiting for Kayla before closing his door and getting in my car.
