I fell asleep during the drive. When I woke up, it was starting to get dark. I didn't see Kayla or Harry at all.
I clutched the small blanket that was thrown on me and stayed still. Where were they? Where was I? Was I even with Kayla still?
The drivers side door opened, showing Harry. He was talking to Kayla about some address, then glanced at me. "Hey, Lou."
I sat up and waved, holding the blanket still. "It's just me and Kayla," Harry said softly. "You can talk."
"Where are we?" I asked, realizing I was in his car now, not Kayla's. "Why am I still tired?"
Harry chuckled. "We're close to my house, and you can sleep when we get there if you want. Are you hungry?"
I shook my head. I just wanted to sleep. Harry sighed but nodded, finishing up his conversation with Kayla before climbing in and starting the car.
"You're coming to mine, is that alright?"
I nodded, resting my head against the seat again. "Do I have-"
"You don't have to do anything you don't want to," Harry said. "If you don't want to talk, you don't have to."
"Okay."
Harry smiled and I smiled back. "Kayla wants to meet with you tomorrow, though."
"Did you tell her... What I told you?" I picked at bare threads in the blanket. "I don't care if you did-"
"I only told her what she needed to know to get you out of there. For good. I know it's hard with your family, but I'm not going to let them mess with your head more than Ken did because they think it's gonna work out in the end." He glanced at me. "I'm going to keep you safe, Louis."
I nodded and chewed on my lip for a few seconds. "Yeah, I know."
When we got to his house, there were no questions. His parents just smiled at us when Harry told them he was going to get me settled. He lead me to his room and I stood in the doorway until he waved me in.
I slowly stepped in, chewing on my lips. Without having to ask, Harry opened his arms. I wrapped mine tightly around him, taking a deep breath. "What's gonna happen after I talk to Kayla?" I asked quietly.
"I don't know, Louis. It's all going to work out, don't worry." He squeezed a little tighter for a few seconds. "We'll keep you safe, yeah?"
"Yeah," I answered shakily.
