Chapter 39

If humans though that an almost four century old woman can't do anything, well, they must've never met Jungkook's Gran.

Jeon Aejong stood straight even without her cane - she said it was just for irking people, she didn't need it - her face and body had aged but they way she held herself and moved said otherwise. She acted like a century old woman, basically his mom's age.

"Now, what do I owe this lovely call from my grandsons? And who's that?" She squinted at Taehyung, who bowed in his place at the old fairy.

"I'm Kim Taehyung, ma'am. Jungkook's...partner." The fairy raised an eyebrow before turning to Jungkook.

"You really know how to pick em, huh? Unlike your grandfather." Jungkook's dad and him both winced at the mention of his grandfather.

Gran was really picky and the fact that she liked Taehyung at first sight was something. His grandfather, Jeon Haneul married against his mother's and grandmother's wishes. A miracle that they hadn't disowned them really but he guessed that they didn't want to bring disgrace to the family.

"Thanks, Gran. But we have a bigger problem here. Do you know anyway we can perhaps, bring down the Ten and show everyone what they've been doing. Hybrids aren't bad Gran, I'm one, I don't even know how but...they're going to move onto worldwide executions if we don't stop them." She listened to him as he explained everything to her and then she fell silent, contemplating.

"I think I might have the solution for you." They all perked up and leaned forward, waiting for her to continue and hoping that whatever she had in mind would actually work.

"The concept of the Ten - which are basically Ten of the most strongest creatures to walk the Earth - didn't just come out after the War, back when my mom was alive, they also had something similar. They called themselves Court of Species, but they were corrupt - in fact, the way the War started dates back to that time, not sure if they kept that in history book or not - and no one was happy with how they were ruling. And so, they sought after finding a way to end them. They came out with a rule, number 17 I believe, that if you could get 7 of 10 of the species to agree to your beliefs, you can change the council, place the ones you want in their stead and also bring down any orders that had come out during their reign."

His mom and dad blinked at the old fairy, their jaws going slack.

"Is there really such an easy way to overthrow a whole council and bring them down?" Gran scoffed at her grandson.

"Whoever thought it would be easy? Each specie clan is entitled to its own beliefs and not even one of them might support you. You don't even need half of them, you need almost a quarter. And you can bet that you'll need amazing persuasion skills to get them to turn their backs against the Ten." Taehyung jumped up, a grin plastered on his face.

"Yes but ever since after the War, species have been trying to find peace, actively working together so that another War doesn't start. If they're informed that this peace might be threatened because of such a trivial matter such as Hybrids. They might actually join our side! And besides, we also have someone from every specie so that we can negotiate with them as them. Not as different creatures trying to do something better for themselves only, but for all of the creatures in the world." Gran looked thoughtful as she stared at Taehyung before turning to Jungkook.

"Like the way his brain works. He's a keeper, Jungkook. You don't get them this easily nowadays, I should know." She sighed, thinking about everyone else in the clan.

The fairy blushed before smiling shyly and getting up.

"Thank you so much, Gran. You have no idea how much of a help you've been."

"I think I do have an idea. Make sure to send my regards to those professors you speak of. Need old Gran to open a portal for you? Been so long since someone needed my help. Magical I mean." Jungkook smiled and nodded.

"Thank you Gran." He told her the location briefly, not wanting to expose exactly where they were and she opened a portal that showed woods, Mr. Kim and Mr. Min's house hidden behind the thick trees but his family didn't need to know that.

"Take care, Jungkook. And if you need anything, anything, make sure to contact us in any way you can, alright?" He nodded again and his mom kissed him on the forehead, followed by his dad before he took Taehyung's hand.

"It was nice meeting you, Mr. Jeon, Mrs. Jeon. I hope to see you soon as well." They waved as they passed through the portal and Gran closed it.

"Ahh, young love. Something you two should've tried to appreciate more instead of dancing around each other."

"Gran!"
