Chapter 40

Hoseok's eyebrow twitched in irritation as he watched Namjoon pace back and forth. He thought bringing the fairy to the library would get him to settle down and read a book but he was proven wrong.

Namjoon was now pacing while reading a book which gave him a headache just by looking at him.

"Namjoon, they'll be fine. Remember what Jungkook said? His parents will help them, they wouldn't kill their child because their family consummated with a shapeshifter at one point. It's not Jungkook's fault." Namjoon took a deep breath, slamming the book shut and falling next to Hoseok on the couch.

"I'm—well—I'm just worried. Anything could happen, plans could go wrong even you're a hundred percent sure it would work." Hoseok sighed and wrapped an arm around his shoulders, bringing him closer until his head was laying on the hybrid's chest.

"I have faith in Jungkook and Taehyung. They are basically the sole reason I and the other hybrids are still alive. Besides, Taehyung wouldn't let anything happen to Jungkook. He's a powerful witch, trained by his grandfather. Or so he says. And I doubt he'd really lie about that." Namjoon hummed, burying his face further into Hoseok's chest.

"I hope they're safe. I just can't get over...him. Maybe there are more traitors between us." A growl left the vampire hybrid, baring his fangs at the mention of the traitor.

"This place is monitored by my parents and they're not traitors. No letters have been sent and no one has communicated with any of their parents. All trying to lay low and things die down and they stop hunting hybrids." The fairy snorted and his wings twitched with him, as if expressing their disbelief with Namjoon.

"It'll be long before that happens. Till then, I'm going to protect you." Hoseok couldn't help the huge smile that enveloped his face and Namjoon's cheeks turned a light pink color that just begged Hoseok to kiss them. He gave in to his instincts and Namjoon squealed when his cheeks were attacked by the vampire hybrid's lips.

"Hoseok! Hoseok—oh my fairy dust stop!" The fairy pushed his chest to get him away from his face but the other was persistent and considerably stronger than him so he easily pulled Namjoon back to him to smother him with kisses.

"You're so annoying." Namjoon bugged and Hoseok huffed.

"You like it. Otherwise you wouldn't have agreed to be my boyfriend." The fairy grumbled as he allowed Hoseok to position him in his lap, straddling the other.

"I must've been under the influence of some spell or curse. No sane creature or human would ever agree to be involved with you." Hoseok grinned and kissed his rosy cheeks again.

"And yet, here you are. On my lap and letting me kiss you."

"Correction. Letting you kiss my cheeks." The vampire hybrid's grin widened and Namjoon knew he was up to no good.

"How about we change that?" And before Namjoon could protest, Hoseok's lips were against his and the breath was knocked out of him. He really hated when Hoseok surprised him like this but loved the feeling so much that he always let him get away with it.

It wasn't every day he had someone interested in him and he himself being interested in the person. Really, he was very closed off and scared most people off. Fairies also tended to keep to themselves so before he even thought he could mate with another creature, he'd given hope on his own specie. Hoseok was a gem in a sea of gold.

While they were so absorbed in each other, Seokjin had opened the door only to stop in his tracks. Yoongi was behind him but couldn't see what had stopped his husband so suddenly since the other was taller than him.

The mermaid turned and quietly closed the door, placing a finger against his lips to make sure Yoongi not to raise his voice and the vampire quirked an eyebrow.

Seokjin grinned and then knocked on the door. They heard shrieks from the inside and then fumbling before a 'come in' came from Hoseok. When they entered, both boys were blood red and it didn't take a genius to guess what they were doing.

They were both happy their son was happy.

"I heard you were worried for your friends, Namjoon-ah. Have you calmed down?" The fairy nodded, giving him a small smile.

"Good. Because Taehyung and Jungkook have returned."
