Namjoon looked around in terror, scared that a teacher or the Principle himself would somehow appear in front of him, telling him that he was breaking curfew rules and that it was punishable by expulsion and he could just imagine the disappointment in his parents eyes-
"Would you calm down, Namjoon? I've been doing this for years now. No one even knows we exist, why would they care if we disappeared for a few hours?" The fairy gulped and looked up at the vampire.
Hoseok had told him today was going to be another gathering for the hybrids in the school. He said it was the perfect opportunity to tell them to be careful and prepare way to escape for anytime in case the Principle started searching at an odd time. He didn't know why he was there though, Hoseok had told him to come and he couldn't say no.
He was a curious fairy - too curious for his own good - and he wondered what a gathering of all hybrids looked like.
Did they all change back to their other forms that they kept hidden? Did they have their parents in these meetings too? Namjoon had never actually seen a hybrid couple, dead or alive. He shivered at the thought.
Hoseok led them through the maze of corridors, left, right, straight and right again. They entered one of the corridors where no one actually went through because well, it was a dead end. But when Hoseok pulled down a painting and pushed a brick into the wall, causing the one diagonal to it to open up, it was obvious that it was not a dead end at all.
"What is this place?" The awe in his voice was evident and Hoseok was kind of proud, hiding his smile by looking away and explaining.
"It used to be another passage for the mermaids but they closed it down because it was too dark and small. I think it became a gathering place for hybrids around 10 years ago when they started finding out that there were hybrids in the school and started....killing them off." The mood grew somber and so Namjoon decided to change the subject.
"How many hybrids are there?" The canals they passed weren't damp as he expected - he's being influenced by books too much - and there was no spiders or rats or anything of the kind. In fact, it looked kind of clean.
"I haven't counted but I would guess around 80? 90? There aren't as many as you'd think in this large school but that really is the result of many different creature couples being too scared to consummate in fear that something might happen to their children." Namjoon nodded in understanding, he started hearing voices, it didn't sound like shouting or maybe a revolution. It was civil and like the normal chatter they heard in the cafeteria during lunch.
When they finally entered the large space, Namjoon was beyond shocked. Everyone was sitting down on tables, some teachers wee there. Albeit they weren't teachers for Level A students but, it was amazing. Some students he'd never suspected of being hybrids were there.
Syun Siho, Park Hyuchil, Kang BoAh and so many more. Only a few of them turned to look at Namjoon, but those few tempted to others to turn and look at him too and suddenly the hall was silent and they were all starting at him.
And they didn't really look too happy about it.
