Okay, it took longer than expected to finish what I was doing before I started this. All I'm going to say is that my lil doggo decided to be a bit of a brat today and demand my attention at all times through misbehaviour. And I can't let her eat plastic, can I? That's not exactly healthy. But I do love her, don't get me wrong. She's my lil baby.

Doesn't mean I like it when she decides to pull a plant out of a pot and try and eat it, or when she decides to eat stones (because that's not dangerous at all) or when she decides to bark loudly at nothing. She's a puppy, she's got time to learn it.

Anyway, you're not here to hear about my dog. You're here to hear about what Rainbow is. I asked for questions yesterday morning, and some of you stepped forward and asked a few. If answers are vague, it's because I wanna avoid giving spoilers or anything like that. If I tell you the whole plot, what would be the point of reading the actual book?

Let's start.

@SpillTheTaekook asked four questions....so we'll start with them if that's okay. Works chronologically as well.

Question: Is the whole story planned out already?

Answer: Technically not, as I haven't decided the end or too many of the main events of the book. But I do have a list of things that I want to happen, in order...noted down somewhere. I won't share that list, obviously, but I do have an idea of the direction. I think having a really specific plot outline would just be restricting, at least at this point in my writing, so that's why I just have a few ideas at this point.

Question: How many chapters do you plan for the book to have?

Answer: I'm not entirely sure yet. It'll be more than 20....that much is certain. I think the chapter I was writing last night (12 July 2019, future readers) was the 13th. I just checked..nope it was 12. I know my own book, clearly. But it's still a long way from being done. But I think it's fair to say there's quite a few which are just waiting to be written at this point. Sorry it's so vague, I'm just not certain yet.

Question: Inspiration for the plot?

Answer: I've wanted to write something based on colour psychology for a long time, and stereotypes have always pissed me off. I was trying to write poetry (it's bad, but it exists) and for some reason, I ended up writing seven poems based on colours. And when I'd done that, I realised that they all fit with a BTS member. It didn't take long for me to make the connection to the idea that the book uses. You'll be able to read (edited and improved) versions of those poems as the book progresses, and now I'm trying to keep to that every time I write a new chapter. It's an extra challenge, but I actually kind of like that.

From those poems, I kind of developed the characters based on their real life personalities, gave them roles and all of that sort of thing. And then it was a case of grabbing some extra characters and figuring a few things out to make sure it was a proper story. Because I can't just have main characters, as you know, and I wanted to make sure I knew the pairings and how they all fit together. In real life, we don't have no connections with anyone, which is why I took that approach. I want them to feel like people, not 2D projections of stereotypes. Besides, that's kind of the whole point of the book.

Question: last and most important question: WHO TOPS?

Answer: I can tell you now that I've got Taekook in the book, so their usual dynamic will remain in this book. I like to keep them as equal as possible, as human as possible, but Kook does take the more dominant role in the relationship once it gets started, I think. He does have his moments of insecurity, but everyone does. Again, refer to the 'wanting to make believable characters' explanation of that.

As for the other pairings (as this is not a Taekook book, it's actually a BTS book), you'll see.

Thank you for those questions, hopefully they've been answered in a satisfactory and understandable way. If anything is confusing, please let me know.

We now move on to @graceadelaine for the next question.

Question: will there be super powers?! ʘ‿ʘ

Answer: To put it as simply as I can, I doubt it. I am the kind of writer who adds fantasy into every single book she can just because she's addicted to it....see Exchange and Dark for proof of that. No planned super powers, but we will see. With this book, and the message I want the wonders to get from it, I guess super powers don't work. It's about breaking stereotypes and showing that there is no 'normal' person, so to give them something which makes them superior to everyone else? It just doesn't feel like it fits, at least at the point I'm at in the book. I know it's disappointing, but for me it makes the most sense, and hopefully you can understand where I'm coming from with that.

Thank you for that question, hopefully that is also a satisfactory answer. I know I've been a little vague so far, but I want to keep some of it a mystery if I may.

We then turn to @Karo1703 for the last two questions.

Question: How old are they?

Answer: Based purely on what I know Jimin's age is, I can list them off for you. The age gaps aren't totally accurate, but let's ignore that for a moment. I also know that people of this age wouldn't necessarily all have the occupations they do, but for the sake of avoiding loads of editing, we're keeping it the way it is. Creative licence comes in somewhere, right? Okay. Ages - youngest to oldest.

Jungkook: nearly 18
Taehyung: 18
Jimin: nearly 19
Hoseok: 22
Namjoon: 22
Yoongi: 23
Jin: 23

Question: Do they have jobs, if so, which?

Answer: Okay. With this one, I'm going to hide a few for the sake of the plot and for the sake of surprises. I'll tell you two, to give you an idea. These are plot related in that it affects events, but less so than some of the others.

Namjoon: owner of small comic book shop. also sells pop figures, film merch, stuff like that.
Jin: works in Namjoon's shop. Also works in a fancy restaurant in the middle of the city, about 20 mins from his house. Restaurant boss is a bit of a dick.

The others....you'll see. Otherwise you'd realise the connections between every single character before I even get a chance to hint at them in the actual book. Which ruins the point a little. I know it's annoying, but it's necessary in order to make sure I avoid spoilers n stuff. I love you really, I swear!!!!!

Those were all the questions. Hopefully you feel like you know a little bit more about the world of Rainbow. I also wanna say something real quick - I could've put this up later, but the reason I didn't was simple. It's called Rainbow. It had to be started in June, but as late as possible. That's why I was so certain that June 30th was the best option.

If you can add to the symbolism, why the hell not?

Anyway, thanks for reading! Next update is tomorrow (14th July, any future readers). Love you all xx
