Chapter 12

"Move and you die," Four growled .

"State your business! Why are you ransacking my house!" The girl cried out.

"We aren't ransacking.. w-we just needed shelter f-or a day," Caleb stammered out.

I let out small sigh, as my eyes met the girl's eyes for a brief moment. Before I could even speak, Tobias clears his throat before speaking, "We are dwellers from beyond the wall, this is where it took us-"

"Yeah one heck of a town here," Lynn made a snide comment.

Tobias glared at her before continuing, "As I was saying, we went against our governing rules and came outside the fence, we have a war going on back there and people are after us."

"Refugees?" She questioned, "Give me names now!" She spat.

"I'm Four, and this is Tris," He said as he gestured to me, "then we have Zeke, Shauna, Marlene, Uriah, Christina, Caleb, Cara and finally Lynn."

"Who are you then?" I asked out of curiosity.

"My name is Katniss. Katniss Everdeen, victor of the 74th annual hunger games."

"What games?" Uriah asked.

She was the the first to put her weapon away, as Four and Zeke did the same.

"The games are for the Capital's entertainment. Each of the twelve districts volunteer two tributes, between the ages of 12-18 to have a battle royale to the death."

"And I thought we had it bad," Lynn retorts.

Katniss tilted her head in confusion, "what does she mean?"

"She means back in our home, we were divided into five groups to keep peace. There were the Erudite, who valued knowledge, the Abnegation valued selflessness, the Dauntless valued bravery, the Candor valued honesty and finally the Amity valued peace," I stated.

"Once you're 16, you take a test to discover which one you are, then the next day you are to choose one. Then you go through initiation," Caleb added.

" However if you fail initiation, you were to become factionless.. dun dun dun!" Uriah finished added a silly suspense to it.

"How did the war begin? How do I know you are not deceiving me!" Katniss shouts.

I step in front of Tobias, as I look directly into Katniss's cold grey eyes.

"Would I have a bullet in my shoulder, if we didn't have a war!" I shouted as rage filled my eyes.

I feel a hand on my good shoulder, I expect it to be Tobias's but when I look back I am shocked to see Caleb's. I shrug his hand off my shoulder before turning back to Katniss.

"Four and I had stopped the computer program that controlled the Dauntless faction, which had them as mindless drones. Once the serum was injected, the Dauntless headed toward Abnegation, with one mission to kill the members that inhabitant Abnegation. The start of this all was because that conniving leader of Erudite wanted power." I scoffed once I had finished.
Katniss grabs me by my wrist, turning me around. 'This is it. I'm gonna be dead within minutes' I thought. Tobias quickly draws his gun, as he aimed at Katniss. I feel her cold eyes on my shoulder as she examines my injured shoulder.

"Let's go I know where you can get medical help, but we need to be careful cause The Capital has hidden cameras." Katniss instructed.
My eyes met Four's as he nodded.
"Let's go then." Four stated.
