Around 3 in the morning I wake up to Shay's cries again. I get her and lay back in bed where I feed her, trying to he quiet so I don't wake Brad. I try my hardest to stay awake until she is done eating, but I find myself drifting off a little.

Brad nudges me "Jen! You're going to fall asleep." He gets Shay from me when I'm done feeding her and changes her then puts her back to sleep. He quietly gets back in bed whispering to me "Do you have any bottles up here?"

I point towards the bathroom "There should be one in the bathroom, on the counter I think." I roll over so I'm looking at Brad "Can you get up next?" He shakes his head signaling yes, and tightly wraps his arms around me as we both slowly drift off to sleep.

A few hours later around 6:30 I hear Brad getting up with Shay and I get up and go over to him "Do you want me to make breakfast?"

He picks her up and walks back over to our bed where he lays down and lays Shay on his chest "Not right now, let's just lay here for a little."

I'm completely exhausted, so of course I go over and join them where I can rest a little more. I lay my head on Brad's shoulder and watch Shay "I think she's still a tired."

"Me too." Brad yawns letting me know he's just as tired as us "I think we all are. Maybe we can sleep a little longer."

I look over and notice they've both fallen asleep and I slowly do the same. Around 8 I wake up to her crying again, but Brad is still asleep so I take her downstairs and sit on the couch to feed her. I turn the TV on and watch Friends for a while until she is done eating and I set her down so I can make myself breakfast. After I'm sitting for a while I hear someone walk in the side door. Curious, I walk over to see who it is and I see Jane.

"I figured you would probably be up by now." She says as she walks in handing me a bag "I was shopping and I got her some toys."

"Awe, thanks." I put the bag on the table and walk towards the living room where I point to Shay laying in her swing "She's probably up for a while now."

Jane walks over and picks her up then sits next to me on the couch "Did she sleep last night?"

I think about how many times she woke up then answer Jane "A little better, she woke up about 4 times, but went back to sleep pretty quickly."

"She'll get better with it. She's hardly even 2 weeks old yet. Within a month or two she'll be better." Jane tells me as she plays with Shay a little then looks up when she sees Brad walk in "Did you just wake up?"

He nods and gets himself some coffee before sitting on the other side of me "I guess I didn't hear her crying the last time."

"She wasn't really crying." I take his coffee and drink a little since I don't have any "I just happened to wake up and see she was up too."

"I was thinking the other day." Jane pauses and looks at Brad and I "You guys never took that trip to Washington, are you taking her with?"

I look over at Brad completely suprised. I forgot about the trip. I can see that he did too "I don't know, I completely forgot all about it. I guess we could probably do that."

"We could always go over your birthday." He tells me then looks at his mom "I think we'll take her, she'll be like 4 months old  by then."

"I really can't believe I forgot about that." I say, still in shock "That's really not like me."

"Well, you were like 7 months pregnant by the time you guys were gonna go." Jane reminds us "You probably forgot because of that, and at that point you weren't really thinking about going on a trip."

"That is true." Brad gets his phone put to start arranging the vacation "If we leave the 10th we can stay until the 15th and spend your birthday and valentine's day there."

"That sounds like a good idea." I agree with him "Are we still driving? I think that would be far for her. It's like 18 hours."

"Don't drive." Jane tells us "Seriously don't it'll be a mess."

We talk more about the vacation for a while then Shay falls asleep and Jane leaves. While she's asleep Brad and I sleep a little on the couch then I wake up to Brad and Shay.

"Sorry, I didn't want to wake you." He tells me as he sits back down "You can go back to sleep if you want."

I sit up next to him "No, I'm okay." I take Shay from him for a little "She's getting too big, I feel like we brought her home yesterday but she's already almost 2 weeks old."

"I know." Brad pulls me on his lap so we're all sitting together "So is she still our only one?"

"I was in a lot of pain, okay?" I laugh "No, probably not."
