Let's Find Out

Brad and I have been home from Cabo for almost 2 weeks and we're at the doctors waiting to find out what they baby is.

"Are you okay? You look a little scared." Brad asks sitting next to me

I swing my legs over to the side of the table so I can see him "Yeah, I'm just excited, and nervous. I hope everything is okay."

The doctor walks in a minute later smiling "How has everything been so far?"

I lay down on the table for her "Good, there haven't been any other complications."

"That's good to hear." She writes it in my chart then gets the ultrasound equipment ready lifting up my shirt "Would you like to know the sex today or wait?"

Brad looks up at her as she gets starts "We want to know."

She puts the wand on my stomach moving it around for a few minutes before she can get a good look at the baby to see "It's a girl!" She tells us then quickly looks at a few more things and tells me I can sit up "Everything looks good for now, and she has good measurements." She cleans everything up and hands me pictures "Let me know if there's anything you need before the next appointment, and have a nice day!" She leaves.

I get off the table and Brad and I walk out to the car "I'm so excited!" I hand him one of the pictures to see "I hope the next 5 months go by fast."

"She's going to be perfect."Brad can't stop smiling and I know how happy he is "I can't wait to tell everyone, and announce it."

We drive home and tell everyone right away like we planned, then decide we should think about how we're going to announce it.

"We could always just tell a magazine." I say as we write down ideas "Or at a premier."

"Do we have anything coming up?" Brad asks "We really can't keep it any longer, it's not going to work." he points out the obvious.

"We could announce it during an interview." I look at my phone calander for any I have coming up "I'm on Ellen next week, I can just wear a lose dress or top so they don't notice and I can announce it then."

"Let's do that." he smiles as Jane walks in our back door.

"I have something for you guys." she gives me a small box "I was waiting to find out of it was a girl or a boy but now that you know, I wanted to give you this."

I open the box revealing a bracelet with a heart charm on it "Wow, this is beautiful."

She flips over the heart showing us a small engraving "Every girl since my mom has worn it for their first birthday party. I was going to wait to give it to you since I know that's a long time away, but I didn't want to forget."

"Thanks, mom." Brad hands her one of the ultrasound pictures we got "This is for you and dad."

"I'm so happy for you guys." She takes the picture and looks at it "She's going to be one of the cutest babies, and the luckiest, having you as her parents."

"I hope we're good." I put the bracelet back in it's box then put it away so I don't lose it "I can't wait."

"Don't worry, soon you'll be chasing her around and wish you were back in this time, just so you could get a break." Jane laughs then notices the way both Brad and I are looking at her "It's not that bad."

"Well, if she's like I've heard other people say their kids are she better be really cute."Brad looks at me "If she's anything like you we wont have a problem."

"He does have a good point, any kid you have will be cute." Jane gets her stuff "I have to go, congratulations again!"

"I thought it would be easier to say her instead of it, but it still feels weird saying that." Brad takes the notepad I had and starts to write random names down "We should try to name her, then we have that taken care of a while."
