Saint Denis was coming into my view, I push my horse as hard as I can. Asher's breath was becoming more and more shallow. I could tell he was losing every ounce of strength to keep himself down on the ground right now. This man wasn't about to die. Not on my watch that is. I couldn't let it happen and if he did die, I swore up and down for the rest of my days, I would only blame myself and I definitely knew that my ex-wife and my daughter would probably once again turn their backs on me. Whether they would need help raising Selina's babies or not. It simply wouldn't matter to them in the end, for I would be the one to blame when it came to Asher. I could've stopped him, but I didn't, and that's where I think I went more than enough wrong.
Had I stopped him, I would've seen to it that they got far away from here. They would have a home in a different part of the states and maybe, oh, just maybe, they would be happy again and Selina wouldn't despise me as much as she does now. The agents and the bounty hunters wouldn't be able to get them, they would probably just come to me and I knew in a sense that I deserved to die for everything I had one. From leaving my wife and child, to shooting people back in the day. It would be the greatest form of karma there is. I simply knew it.

I'm riding through the streets now. Trying to be mindful of the random people who keep on walking through the street and crossing when it was all too close for me to even stop. They were all gasping as they saw me with the male on the back and all the blood that seemed to cover my shoulder and his entire body. People were pointing and whispering as if we were in some sort of failed magic show.
I stop my horse right outside the office before I lift him back over my shoulder and carry him within the establishment. "Excuse me! I need a doctor!" I shout before and older male come out, he has glasses upon his nose and his hair is all grey. He nearly drops the pipe between his lips when he sees the man within my grasp. "Bring him right in here, just in this chair." My breath is hitching as I'm carrying the boy and placing him down within the chair. The doctor looks at me with a bit of disbelief. "Do you know this man?" He then asks and I didn't think this was worth him asking at the moment considering he was dying.
"Yeah, I'm his father-in-law."
"Hinton right? Selina Hinton's father?"
"Sure. Yeah. Can you just get to it, he ain't well, not much time left."
"This is Asher Sanders, her husband, damn and poor fool... I'll ask you more questions later." He states as he's attempting to lead me out. "Wait, wait, doc... Is he gonna be okay? My daughter... She'll--- She'll lose everythin' if this boy don't make it." I mutter to him before he sighs deeply. "All we can do is find out, please, I need to see what I can get out of him." He then pushes me fully out and shuts the door. Blood is all over my shoulder and arms, old and fresh as I just stand there for a moment. I try to process the fact that this boy might not even live to see tomorrow and in the end, what would Selina have? Nothing at this point, their house? It was gone. Everything in it. I knew she was going to lose it over Asher, the house, everything when she got here. Which was the exact reason why I knew I needed to try to keep her calm when they arrived. Plain and simple.
