Asher Sanders P.O.V.

Breathing almost hurt at this point I felt as though I was breathing dust from how dry my throat had becoming from me barely swallowing or doing anything to keep myself from having such a dry mouth, throat, lips, everything. I was coming to, I could feel it and the amount of pain I was in was still indescribable. A deep breath is all I can manage before I open my eyes, blurry for a moment before I try to sit up, but I can't. Licking my lips as I'm trying to moisten them back up. "Ah fuck...." I breath out before I look over to see a man standing beside me. "Antonio?" I weakly ask as I'm trying to sit up again, soon Dr. Barnes comes in and is quick to help me sit up. Though I do end up gritting my teeth with a huff passing my lips, I take a deep breath to try to get through the pain. "Mr. Sanders... Welcome back. You were shot four times, do you remember anything?" He asks before I shake my head, if I did, I didn't remember much. "Told you, you needed to stop with everything, you ain't gettin' any younger and this is the reality. Neither am I, won't be 'round much longer to make sure you stop this nonsense. But, I am happy to see you back and breathing fully." I watch as he walks over to a cabinet, getting out a syringe and soon placing it within my arm. "For the pain, I'll see to it your wife gets your medication that you'll be taking for the next week or so. Make sure you stay out of trouble for the entire time too okay? Enough of this." I motions to me and then exits the room once more, Antonio was off to the side till he comes forth once more. "Yeah, Asher, it's me. How do you feel?"
"Guess that shot helped a bit..." I cough for a moment which a bit painful, taking a deep and rather raspy breath, my eyes gaze upon him once more. "You saved my life... Why?" I ask with a slight chuckle before I watch as he shrugs to me. "I saved your life 'cause in the end, I figured if I could do one good thing in my life--- It would be savin' the man my daughter loves. I got tired of watchin' her cry--- Seein' her unhappy whenever I entered a room. You're a good man, Asher Sanders and I know Selina loves you. I just couldn't bear to see her hurt for the rest of her life because she's so empty without you." I give him a weak smile as I'm staring at the ground for a moment. "She's here huh?"
"She is..."
"Can I please see my wife... If that's what she still wants to be?"
"I'll send her in." He then turns on his heels and walks out the door. My eyes are focused on my hands as I'm trying to think of something to say to the girl. If there was anything I could say that would make things better. I didn't know if she hated me for what I did, or if she was still the same girl I had fallen in love with. I hear steps now and I look up to see Selina, she's got a slow approach at first but soon enough, her pace quickens and she takes me up within a gentle embrace. I bring my arms up the best I can with the little strength I have. "Selina." I mumble as I bury my face within her hair. Taking in her scent, holding her close and feeling as though I was dreaming again. I began to cry as well, I was stunned that I was seeing her again. That she was within my arms and I was within her's. "Asher... My dear, sweet, lover boy. I'm so happy you're alive."
"Sel... I'm so sorry. I'm sorry for what happened... How I left you. You're--- The most precious thing that I've ever had in my life. You, our kids, our life. Everything. I feel whole when I'm with you, I know that I have a purpose in my life. You make me the happiest man in the entire world... I love you. I love you so fuckin' much and I knew in the end, if I could chose between my life and yours, you would always be the number one pick, hands down, end of story." She cups my face within her hands as she wipes the tears from my cheeks and even she's crying now. "I love you too, Asher. You have made me the happiest woman in the world in return, you have never made me question on if we were ever gonna lose this love, I just know we won't... Which is why---" She cuts herself off before she reaches within her pocket and pulls out my wedding ring. "I only hope you'll still call me your wife... If you'll have this ring again."
"Selina, I'll call you my wife million times over, whether it's in this life or the next."
She slips my ring back upon my finger before she kisses my lips ever so gentle. Every motion she did, her touch, it was all gentle. For she knew I was in pain and I was sensitive as all hell. Our foreheads are leaned together now as I'm looking within her green hues.

All seemed right in the world right now. Once more, I was alive, my wife was with me, the government hopefully was done with us. This was everything we desired. The happiness, had most certainly returned.
