As Christmas break was approaching, everyone's moods quickly went up. In the hallways, kids were buzzing about what presents they want, and making winter plans together. Unfortunately, Lily couldn't share her friends' enthusiasm. She still had to ask Severus where she was going for Christmas break, and Draco wouldn't get off her case about where she was gonna stay. Crabbe just taunted her, now joined by Goyle. Malfoy had told them to stop a few times, so they'd decided to do it behind his back, instead. Although, Lily was happy, because she'd gotten a lot closer with her roommates, with Ron, Hermione, and Harry, and with Draco and Blaise, too.
Currently, she was on her way to lunch with Hermione, Harry, and Ron. From there she'd go to Potions, then Transfiguration, then she had her free block, then dinner.
"Harry, I thought we were friends. Friends don't hide things from each other." Lily complained.
"Yeah, seriously Harry, you've got some screws loose. I mean, Lily is as good as my best friend, I'd like to have her at least know our theories." Hermione said. "I second that." Ron agreed.
Harry rolled his eyes. "I'd just rather not risk the lives of all my friends." He sighed.
"I'm not mad, Harry. I'm just curious." Lily said, then she bid each of her friend goodbye, and headed over to the Slytherin table.
"Why do you talk to those stupid Gryffindors anyways? It's a disappointment to the Slytherin house." Draco insulted, as Lily sat down. "Why do you constantly bother me about not having stupid prejudices?" She retorted, and Draco rolled his eyes.
"If you're gonna fraternize with the enemy, at least do it with someone other then Scarhead, Ginger, and Muggleborn." He said.
"Well I was thinking of becoming friends with the Weasley twins, Neville Longbottom, Seamus Finnigan, and Dean Thomas." Lily replied, and Draco did a fake gagging noise. "See, Lily is basically a mudblood." Crabbe sighed.
"Another word about my Dau— student, Crabbe, and you're expelled." Came a slow voice, who was walking past the Slytherin table to go to the bathroom.
Crabbe grunted. "Why's he always on my back?" He said. "Because I'm his favorite student." Lily replied with a devious smirk.
"Well ignoring Crabbe, how do you suppose you're gonna be friends with all those Gryffindors, when you're a Slytherin?" Draco asked.
"Get off her back, Draco." Pansy said, then continued munching on her food. Draco ignored her, and kept a smirk on his face while looking at Lily, waiting for her answer. Lily thought for a moment, then her face lit up in realization.
"I can prank the Weasley twins, and definitely become friends with the others through Harry, Ron, and Hermione."
Draco frowned, rolled his eyes. He then took an annoyed bite into his sandwich. With a mouthful of food, he then asked, "Who are you staying with for Christmas break?"
"Draco, seriously leave the poor girl alone." Daphne interrupted, breaking her conversation with Pansy and Rosemary for a moment.
"Fine, fine. Just curious." He said.
                              -
Lily was now sitting next to Pansy in Potions, since Snape had moved her seat away from Crabbe. Snape slightly regretted his decision, as Pansy and Lily constantly would talk during lessons.
"Attention up here, please. That means you, Miss Parkinson, and Miss Star." Snape called, and everyone looked forward.
"Today we will be brewing the Hiccoughing potion. Once finished, you will fill a vial with your potion, label it with your name, and put it into on my desk. The instructions will be on the board, any questions?" Snape asked, clearly not wanting anyone to ask questions. Lily's hand shot into the air.
