"Harry hasn't answered any of my letters!" Lily sighed.

"Perhaps he just doesn't like you." Severus answered from his spot on a couch chair, where he was sitting cross-legged reading a book.

"No but you don't understand, he hasn't been answering Ron or Hermione either. Maybe when we go to get my new school books we'll see him." Lily said, to which Snape responded with, "We're getting your new schoolbooks with Draco and Lucious, if Potter happens to be there, you can say your hellos."

"Lucious is a miserable git." Lily muttered.
"Lucious has been a friend of mine for years." Severus responded, to which he snapped his book shut and opened the window for Lily's owl to fly in.

Severus read the back and sighed. "It's from Weasley." He said in a disappointed tone, handing it to Lily.

Her eyes skimmed over the letter before her face erupted with a large smile.

"Harry's okay! The Dursley's were starving him, those bloody bastards, with bars on his windows," Lily began, and Severus scolded her for her language.

"So Ron, Fred, and George flew a car to his house and captured him. And look here! They're going to get their books in three days as well!" She finished.

"They flew a car? Just another reason Potter should be expelled." Sever is muttered

The time came for Lily to get her new school books, and as soon as she saw Draco, a big smile found its way to her lips. She would go in for a hug, but she didn't want to embarrass Draco in front of his father. And, Draco wasn't much of a hugger anyways.

"Taking Ms. Star here to get her books once again?" Lucious questioned. Snaps straightened his back, "Yes, orders by Dumbledore."

Severus had given Lily some money before they'd arrived. "Run along now, go find your books." He said in a cold tone, as he and Lucious then began to start discussing Knockturn Alley.

"C'mon Draco, I think all the books we need are in that store over there." Lily said, pointing to a nearby,  very crowded shop. Her and Draco immediately went up the stairs to the top floor where nobody else was, after Draco insisted that he would get filthy with all of the commotion going on downstairs.

"My fathers buying new brooms for the Slytherin team." He boasted, talking all about how he was to be the new seeker.

"I found the section other Lockheart's books!" Lily interrupted, just as Draco had paused.

"I hear something going on downstairs, i'm just going to have a look. Get all of my books for me, please." He said, before trotting down the stairs. Lily roller her eyes. She was used to Draco being a brat, but nevertheless he had his good moments, where she could tolerate him.

The chiming of the door opening once again rang, and she saw Lucious walk in, Severus not next to him.

She piled her and Draco's books into two separate stacks, then went downstairs to see what all the commotion was about. She immediately made eye contact with harry.

"Harry!" She breathed happily and engulfed him into a hug. She hugged Hermione, Ron, Fred, and George, before realizing that the spirits weren't high.

Lucious Malfoy insulted Arthur Weasley's salary, and Draco let out a sly laugh.

Lucius then slipped books back into Ginny Weasley's cauldron, before turning around abruptly, and leaving with Draco, who probably expected her to join them. She sighed, and stayed with the Weasleys.
Draco clearly didn't like this, yet continued on his way out of the shop.

Why do you hang out with that filthy git..." Ron muttered to Lilly. She shrugged and sighed. "He has his moments." She replied quietly.

"Well anyways, Harry's staying with us for the rest of summer. You're welcome to join if you want." Ron suggested.

"I'd love to. I have to ask first." Harry and Ron nodded knowingly.

-

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because I said so." Severus replied. Lilly huffed and crossed her arms.

"I really don't see why I can't stay at the Weasley's for the rest of the summer." She asked.

Snap was sitting above a dark purple bubbling potion, slowly adding a green powder in a circular motion.

"You're twelve, and the only other girl in that house besides Mrs. Weasley is the daughter. I'm not sending you to a shack in the middle of nowhere for all the boys to corrupt you."

"I'm already friends with most of them. Besides Percy and Bill and Charlie, but Bill and Charlie are adults now and Percy keeps to himself." Lily begged. Severus replied by saying nothing, but continuing to add ingredients to his potion.

"Are you sure you're not just being biased? I bet you'd let me stay at the Malfoy's, or with Pansy." Lilly complained, sluggishly sitting down in a chair next to Snape.

"As a matter a fact, I would certainly not let you stay at the Malfoy's and the Parkinson's would be a hard maybe. You can see your Gryffindor friends at Hogwarts." Lilly sighed and brushed hair out of her face.

"But thats just the thing, I can't. If I spend too much time with them, any of them, the Slytherins get all snappy with me. I don't see why the sorting hat didn't just put me in Gryffindor if it had
considered it so hardly." She sighed.

Severus appeared to be getting a headache from this conversation, so replied quickly and sharply.

"The Sorting Hat knows things which we do not. The answer is no, now up to your room and release your owl, the level of noise that he's making is deafening." Severus said, annoyed.

Lilly huffed and went to go free her owl. She didn't picture Severus honestly caring, so why did it matter?
