"Have you got everything?" Severus asked, as he subtly led Lily onto the train. She nodded so that no one would notice, and followed Pansy into a compartment with Draco and Blaise in it.
"I might be leaving at some point to visit 'Scaarhead Pottah's friend Granger'." Lily said, saying the last two words in a fake Draco voice. Lily was upset that Harry and Ron were staying at Hogwarts, meaning that she couldn't sit with them on the train, but didn't blame them for staying. In fact, Lily considered staying to be with Harry, since he wouldn't be going home because of the Dursley's, but Ron stayed, so Lily decided she'd go home.
"How unfunny can you possibly get?" Draco said with a very annoyed tone. "Shut up I'm hilarious." Lily replied with a small smile on her face, and Draco looked down with a small smile on his face too.
"What are you guys planning to do for vacation?" Blaise asked.
"I'll be having my annual winter bash at Malfoy Manor. Pansy and Blaise, you got your invitations right? Lily, I didn't know where you lived, but I asked father and he said I could bring another friend too." Draco said boastfully.
"I'd love to come, but my um- my guardian cant make it." Lily said. Malfoy looked up at her with a confused glance. "You don't even know what day it is. It's the day before Christmas Eve." He said.
"Y-yeah I figured. He doesn't like to go out,
I'm sure I can go though." She replied. Draco furrowed his brows. "What about your mum?" He asked. Lily rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Get off my case." She said jokingly, and Pansy gave her an amused smile."We sent out an invite to practically every high-status figure in England. And in general, anyone who knows my parents." Draco continued boasting, and a thought bubbled into Lily's mind.
Severus knows Malfoy's parents.
She brushed the thought out of her mind, then noticed that all her friends were staring at her.
"Hm?" She muttered, then Draco spoke up. "I asked you what you were doing for break." He responded, then Lily thought for a moment.
"I don't really know, probably just relaxing. Probably not gonna have much of a Christmas either." Lily said. She looked at Blaise and Pansy. "So what're you two gonna be doing?"
"Probably sending letters to you guys and dying of boredom. My house isn't much fun." Pansy replied with an annoyed expression.
"My mum bought me and my siblings new brooms, I'll probably be flying a lot with them." Blaise responded. There was silence for a moment, and Lily could hear the faint sound of the Trolley Witch's cart, rolling down the isle. Lily perked up in her seat.
"I've got to go." She stated. She looked in back of her, to see the Trolley Witch a few compartments behind. "Where?" Blaise asked.
"Hermione said she'd buy me sweets." She replied with a big smile plastered on her face.
-
There was so many people. Too many people. Lily was feeling rather anxious saying goodbye to her friends, as she never did good with big crowds. She was focusing on her breathing as she pushed past a family of wizards, and towards Hermione.
"H-hey Hermione, I have to go now, but I'll see you back at school soon, alright?" She asked quickly, then put a hand on Hermione's shoulder, and lowered her voice slightly. "Send an owl, okay? Being alone with Severus will probably be awkward and bore me half to death." Lily joked then her face broke out into a smile. Hermione leaned forward and pulled her into a strong hug, then said something that Lily couldn't quite hear, because the chatter of the crowd was too loud.
