Chapter 43: The Fan Café Announcement and MAMA 2018

After the escapade we had we returned to Seoul that afternoon to talk with the members and with the Pdnims. They had allowed us to reveal our relationship but be prepared of any consequences, so the day after we posted a handmade letter on our fan cafes telling them that we are dating, and we are hoping for their support. The penmanship in the letter changes in every paragraph indicating that two different persons wrote the letter.

Our fans of course had different reactions of course because we jot dropped a hot potato, some of them can't accept the truth, some supported us, and some were angry at us for dating behind their backs. But the members had supported us all through he way. They explained the details to the fans and made sure that we won't forget about them even if we were dating.

One by one the fans started to accept our relationship and the local fans are helping us reach to the international fans but me and Kookie hadn't meet after the day we had posted the letter due to our schedule. We were able to see each other during the first and second day of MAMA 2019 but we didn't get to talk with each other because of the playful members preventing us from getting near with each other as a punishment for revealing our relationship to the fans first. All those things were kept from the public's eyes, the perks of having a powerful yet playful fandom.

But today on the third day of MAMA in Hong Kong, they already allowed us to talk and to meet afterwards. "Yahh, stop staring at him or you will be caught on fan cams." Jungyeon unnie says as she playfully covered my eyes. "Stop it unnie, you didn't allowed me to talk to him for days..." I said as I continued to stare at him while we are on seats waiting for the ceremony to start.

"Enough Sana unnie, a lot of fan cams are already directed at our direction." Jihyo unnie said in a low voice. "Fine, fine... But let me talk to him after the awards ceremony okay?" I said as I give my focus to the stage because the ceremony will be starting already.

As the ceremony goes on, we as our usual selves jammed along with other groups' performances while we wait for our own to come. Then when it is our time to perform, we hyped up the stage like we usually do. BTS performed just right after we performed and as proud girlfriends *hmm* we can't help but to silently cheer on our boys who are currently performing on stage.

I silently told Jungyeon unnie to tease on Tzuyu when V sunbae suddenly sit right in front of us in the middle of their performance, the girls even laughed at her reaction when sunbae gave a heart signal to her direction. Of course me and Kookie exchange glances from time to time since it can't be helped.

After their performance the giving of the awards took place. We won the best female group and best female dance performance, while BTS won the best male group and best male dance performance. Both our groups won the fan choice awards for having the biggest fandom in the K-pop history. When the Song of the Year awards we were so nervous. Jihyo tried to calm us down and cheered us up that it is okay if we won't win the award since a lot of groups worked hard this year.

"Congratulations Twice!" We were just all shock when other idols started clapping towards our direction. "Were we just called?" Nayon unnie said while pointing to ourselves, shock like everyone of us. But we slowly made our way to the stage still with the shock evident in our faces. Jihyo accepted the award and speak in behalf of the group but she wasn't barely able to start her speech because of her tears started to fall. After a few seconds she started off by introducing ourselves.

"One in a million, annyeong haseyo Twice imnida! Ahm we're a team that is still lacking but thank you for giving us so much love regardless. There are so many talented artists here, and I think we felt that especially while watching the performances today. The artists today would have prepared and promoted through blood and sweat, so I don't know if it's okay for us to accept this award. Thank you for giving us such big awards at MAMA for the past three years.

She thanked Park Jin Young Pdnim for writing "What is Love?" and went on to thank our staff as well as everyone at JYP Entertainment. She continued, "There are so many people to thank. This year especially, I was so thankful to our members. Being so busy for three years, we were really physically and emotionally tired this year, but for always being a source of comfort, strength, and happiness for each other, I want to say thank you so much to the members, and you did so well."

"Also, to ONCE, who support us at every performance with smiling faces and unbelievable cheers, I want to say thank you, even though saying it 100 times would not be enough. A lot of people say that our performances raise their mood and give them energy, but the people who give us that energy are our fans. Thank you, and TWICE will continue to return with great songs and energetic performances. Thank you so much." Jihyo said that made us all shed tears as we hug each other and then Tzuyu gave her speech in Chinese.

"First, thank you, and thank you to everyone who helped and guided us. Thank you to everyone at JYP, as well as the members of TWICE, who've worked so hard. Also, to our fans ONCE, who have always supported us, thank you. It's because of you that we are standing up here today, and it's because of you that we received the award for Song of the Year. Thank you." after she ended her speech, we gave our bow to everyone then we headed down the stage.

We were smiling from ear to ear because we were able to receive big achievements this year and we are really being thankful for the love the fans have gave us. "Who do you think will win the album of the year and artist of the year?" Dahyun asked. "Isn't it obvious, BTS sunbae of course! All K-pop groups don't have a match for their album sales... Beside no one can beat them in terms of hard work..." Mina said that we all agreed upon as we walk our way towards our seats.

When we passed by BTS, Jungkook whispered congratulations to me when I passed by his side as I responded congratulations in advance to him. Just right the exact moment when they were called to the stage for the album of the year award. After a few moments of break the ceremony continued to the very last part of the program which was the album of the year award.

Jungyeon unnie and Chaeyoung were teasing me and Momo unnie telling us congratulations that made us obviously shy because they were definitely talking about hmm our boyfriends. Then we payed attention to the speaker in front as he started speaking when the announcement of the nominees is already done. "I am so honored to announce the artist of the year award today, and honestly I really want to award everyone for their hard work. But this card right here holds the name of the sole winner..." he said as he held out the card.

"Mnet Asian Music Awards, Artist of the Year Award goes to..." he said as he took off the paper from the card which all artist payed attention to. "Oh, there is a bit change this year and this will literally make their fans very happy..." he trailed off that made us all nervous especially when he mentioned the word change. BTS won the Artist of the Year award last year, so we are so curious what made the results change this year.

"We have two winners for this year everyone! Congratulations Bangtan Sonyeondan and Twice!" he announced that made us all shock in our seats. Jihyo unnie was crying hard while hugging Nayeon unnie as we all gave each other a hug. We took our time to settle our emotion first before we could notice that all attention was directed to our direction since we sat behind BTS, we saw them having a group hug before we all decided to head down the stage while we keep bowing our heads to everyone.

"Ladies should go first..." RM sunbae said as he directed Momo unnie to go ahead as we followed her then the boys tailed behind us as we walked to the stage. The announcer gave us our awards and congratulated both groups before he let us stood in front of the mic.
