Millie
-

Shawn and I quickly pulled away from each other. We looked over to the gates and saw a crowd of fans with their phones out. Shawn and I looked back at each other and I grabbed all of our supplies. I basically ran back to the trailer where the supplies was from and Shawn followed behind.

"Your ass is amazing in those shorts!" He yelled.

"Mendes!" I whisper-yelled at him.

He laughed as I ran into the trailer. I put the supplies back as Shawn stood at the door, leaning with his arms crossed. I became flustered and looked at him.

"Shawn, we can't be doing that." I told him.

"Doing what?" He smirked.

"Kissing while fans are around, it's not... we can't do that."

"Says who?"

"Says everyone. The fans would kill me for us being together." I sighed, putting my face in my hands.

"Millie, the only person who is saying we can't is you." He pulled my hands from my face.

He stared into my eyes and intertwined our fingers. We stared at each other for a few seconds and then his phone started ringing. I sighed and left the trailer. I ducked through the equipment, hoping not to be seen by any fans.

I knew Shawn and I couldn't be together. First off, I am his personal trainer. Second, his fans would absolutely want to kill me any chance they had. Who knows what would happen! I ran my hands over my face and groaned, realizing Shawn was my ride back to the hotel.

I got into the car and pulled my phone out. I went onto twitter and my feed was flooded with pictures of us kissing already. I almost threw my phone. I couldn't believe how careless I was.

The car door opened and Shawn got into the drivers seat. He didn't say anything, but he looked upset. He turned the car on and drove us through the gates and back to the hotel. The entire car ride home he didn't say anything, not a single word. I felt awkward sitting there, I didn't know what to say or what to do.

We pulled into the hotel and parked in the back. I got out and went into the hotel, going straight to the elevator. Shawn followed behind me and we went up to the room.

"You can shower first, I'll shower after so you can get to the venue." I told him.

"Okay." He muttered.

He grabbed his clothing and went to the bathroom. I sat on my bed and plugged my phone in. I laid down and stared at the ceiling. I liked Shawn. I really liked him. Like a lot. I knew I shouldn't and that I could get repercussions from his fans. I didn't know what would happen to our work relationship. Shawn could easily sleep with someone and I would be jealous and then I would want to quit.

I couldn't do that. I needed this job. This paid so well and I made amazing friends out of it. I knew Shawn could find someone else, personal trainer and girlfriend, so who was I?

Shawn came from the bathroom and his hair was dripping down his face.

"Shawn, can we talk?" I sat up.

"About?"

"About this, us, whatever is happening?"

"I have 5 minutes."

"What are we doing?" I asked him, watching as he moved through the room.

"Nothing, you are my personal trainer." He seemed to lock his jaw and furrow his brows.

"Oh." I muttered, looking down at my hands.

"We can't be anything, Mills. I know you finally opened up to me, but I just..."

Tears welled into my eyes and I nodded. I stood from the bed and grabbed my phone. I headed over to the bathroom and heard Shawn sigh behind me. I felt hands on my hips and I was turned around. I continued to look down, not wanting to look at him.

"Millie, look at me." He whispered.

"Shawn, please." I said.

His fingers went under my chin and he tilted my head up. My eyes were full with tears and his face softened. I looked away and a tear fell. His finger moved to wipe it away and he placed his hands on my cheeks. He leaned down and pressed our lips together.

"Millie, I know you are very weary of who you let in, but trust me on this. It's not me." He looked into my eyes.

"What do you mean?"

"I have to go. I lo-"

"What do you mean, Shawn? It's not you?"

"I will see you soon." He gave me a sad smile and left.

I stood, stunned, in the room. I shook my head and went for a shower. I washed over my entire body and got out, drying my hair and brushing my teeth. I got changed into a tank top and shorts. Ivan came up to the room to give me company and I did my makeup. I fixed my hair and we left for the concert. Ivan was quiet the ride there.

I didn't have a clue what was going on, and I would like to know but it seemed no one would tell me. We got to the concert and went through the place to our seats. I learned most of his songs, so I was ready to sing along tonight. His opening act came on, then he came on.

"Tonight, I wanted to sing an old song. For a specific reason, but here is Act Like You Love Me." He introduced.

I had never heard this song, so I stood quietly and watched as he got an acoustic guitar. He looked choked up as he started strumming. He started singing and I listened as close as I could to the lyrics. I began to realize what he was hinting towards and my eyes began to tear. I placed my hand over my mouth and looked at Ivan.

"I'm so sorry, Millie." He sadly said.

I looked back at Shawn and he was already looking at me. His eyes seemed teary and fans were singing along. Some were talking in hushed whispers, mentioning earlier. Shawn came to finish the song and the lights dimmed.

I looked over at Ivan and I told him I wanted to go. He led us through the crowd and back to Shawn's room. We sat on the couch and I just sat in silence. In a few minutes, Ivan had gotten up to help Shawn finish up his last few songs and come back. I sat with my elbows on my knees and my face in my hands. I was at a loss. I didn't know what to say or what to feel.

Shawn came walking in and I didn't even look up. Ivan came and sat next to me again. I told him I wanted to go back to the hotel. I couldn't be around Shawn right now. Ivan brought us back to the hotel, he parked the car and I basically booked it up to the room. Ivan followed as fast as he could behind me, but I beat him.

I grabbed my suitcase and started throwing everything in it. I threw anything I had taken out for the night and just threw it into the bag. I zipped it shut and grabbed my backpack. I filled it with my phone charger and any smaller items.

I checked over the room, making sure all my stuff was in my bags. I pushed the bags to the door and remade the bed. I grabbed a slip of paper from the drawer and a pen.

Dear Shawn,
Thanks for the amazing opportunity.

Millie

I left the note on the dresser and left the room.
