But what about title name consistency?
BUT whAt AbOUt TiTle Name CONsiTenCY?
Virgil weighed his opinions carefully... and chose.
Virgil: can you send me the safe house address?
Logic: of course. Good luck.
Logic ended the call with that, and a second later his phone buzzed, he looked down and saw an address. Now all he had to do was escape.
Thank goodness the duke, was still out like a light so he could escape (I have been thinking about making this time sensitive for example if no one voted for a few days remus may have woken up, let me know if you would like that)
Who knows what would have happened if he had woken up...
He slipped out the door, out the lobby and onto the street. He followed the road signs until he reached the street logic had told him to find. There it was, saftey.
He could almost cry.
He ran up to the door, took a deep breath and knocked.
A bright blue eye appeared at the peephole
"Who are you?" The voice sounded like they were trying, yet failing, to be intimidating.
"My names Virgil Umbra, logic told me this was a safe place"
The door opened at lightning speed and Virgil had the wind knocked out of him with a hug.
The boy before him wore kakis and a light blue shirt, with a grey cardigan over his shoulders.
The hug lasted a few seconds until mr hugger remembered the urgency of the situation and pulled him inside.
"Hey kiddo, I am patton"
Virgil was suprised, because he was fairly sure he was older then Patton, but also because he used his real name straight lol away
"I don't see the point in codenames, I know I can trust you.. logic told me you were coming and he wouldn't have sent you if you were untrustworthy"
Patton said, as if reading his thoughts.
"Well, I can read your thoughts kiddo, My ability is that I am an empapath, but I also have low level telepathy. So when I have physical contact—'' Patton gestured to his arm on Virgil's
"I can read your most prominent thought"
Virgil hurried to pull his arm away. Patton seemed ok, but he didn't want anyone poking around in his head.
"Sorry Virgil, but I had to check, logics been wrong before... just last week he misused a word" we all know which one...
"So I had to be sure I could trust you. From now on, I promise to respect your privacy"
Calmer now Virgil nodded and decided he liked Patton. He could trust him.
He was safe.
Then, it was as if the danger of the day left him, and he felt all the emotions he had shoved aside hit him at once. He cried and cried and cried, a sympathetic Patton (now wearing gloves) hugging him and reassuring him until he eventually fell asleep in his new friends arms.
~by the power of god and anime it's the next morning~
Virgil awoke disoriented ... but once he rembered the events of last night, he felt less confused. But also more confused. He needed answers.
As he headed downstairs however only one question played on his mind
"Patton,"
he asked the boy who was munching happily on his toast (an alarming amount of crusts to the side of his plate) "where are your parents?"
And just like that all positivity was gone from his face.
"Well, my dad adopted me when I was two, then he raised me until I turned... 10? 9 or 10. Then he and his partner, I didn't know his real name .. just his codename sleep, went missing in action... the resistance thinks they died... but I know he's alive... I just know it. Either way, the resistance sends a monthly compensation check because I am under 18, and I stay here and help them."
Patton really hadn't ment any harm, and he looked so sad talking about his fathers fate, but Virgil couldn't help himself: Patton knew something about his father.
"What about his partner? Sleep?"
He asked. Patton sniffed and replied "I dont know, only knew his name, hard to track a life force as it is, tracking someone you don't know is impossible... why?"
Virgil sighed and responded
"sleep was my fathers codename."
Pattons face said it all, a mix of shock, and horror.
"Oh. Virgil I am so sorry"
Virgil waved his apology away.
"I am sorry to patt... you didn't deserve to lose a father"
Neither of them did.
Patton sighed and left the room, the sadness to much for him to handle. Virgil fell into silence, he had nothing else to say.
Three hours past him by.
Four, and he still hadn't moved.
Finally when patton came in to make lunch, he voiced a question.
"Can you please tell me why we have to run? Why they had to risk their lives? What its all for?"
Patton shook his head.
"Sorry Virgil, but I dont have clearance, and I need to earn the resistances trust if they're ever going to let me be a field agent so I can find them"
Virgil understood. He had made his choice, and he had chosen safety over awnsers for now.
The week past him by, and sometimes he could almost forget about his situation..
He and patton baked, played Mario cart and watched films. It was great.
He wondered how patton coped with the endless solitude.
He must be going crazy, being so lonely.
But if patton was losing his mind, he hid it well.
Hell, even with patton there ... Virgil was starting to lose his mind after a week. He couldn't even imagine 7 years of this.
Until, there was a knock on the door.
At first he wasn't concerned, figuring it was a grocery delivery, but Patton put his book down and looked? Was he afraid or frightened?
Either way, it put Virgil on edge.
The knock sounded again, and Patton waved Virgil away wispering
"Go. They're here for you if their a threat."
So he slunk upstairs and listened from his room.
"Who are you and what do you want"
Said patton in his 'tough guy' voice.
"My name is logic, I presume your morality, I sent mr Umbra over to you? I am here to collect him."
Patton opened the door and ha hahah even if your calling the shots you cannot escape my OTP he almost fainted. He was way to gay for this.
If you dont want ships let me know and I will stop, and just ignore that part
"Please call me Patton, I really dont see the point in codenames among friends."
The boy in front of him ever so slightly blushed before regaining composure
"Please ... morality"
Pattons face fell
"At best we are strangers, not friends."
Offfff. Rip Pattons heart.
An uncomfortable silence fell, until logic called past patton
"Mr Umbra we must go now."
Virgil appeared on the landing and suprised the boys by the door by replying
"No."
Pattons head cocked like a confused puppy and logic asked
"What do you mean, 'no'? Your life is in danger we must leave."
Virgil stood a little gayer, and repeated himself
"No. Not without patton. He cant stay here alone, its a miracle he hasn't lost his mind yet, he's alone, its not right."
Logic sighed.
Patton tried to mutter an excuse
"I'm fine virge, 'onest"
Logic gestures at patton appreciatingly.
"If morality truly is uncomfortable here he can request a transfer to hq, it would take up to a year but —"
Virgil had a choice to make, he could do as he was told or he could help his friend...CHOOSE
Refuse to leave patton
Leave patton
So basically, will Virgil help his friend or put awnsers above all? This question will effect character development for both patton and Virgil, as well as Virgil's relationship with the resistance so choose wisely: do you care about patton Or fast awnsers?
