TRIGGER WARNING FOR VIOLENCE
The plans all had serious risks, but if they followed Pattons idea and it failed, at least they could go out quoting starwars.
Roman reached into his backpack and pulled out a mask, as well as three sets of handcuffs.
"A hero is always prepared!"
He announced, placing the first set of cuffs on logan gently and making sure they didn't close.
He did the same to patton, but when he came to Virgil he almost locked them.
He didn't trust the emo nightmare...
But he decided against it. Because of their situation all choices had to be group choices and the villain had his new friends wrapped around his evil fingers.
Roman inhaled 'by accident'
The dark boy smelled like smoke from a campfire and spring rain.
Not that it mattered.
Roman realised he'd been lingering.
He stepped away from the other boy and told the three in handcuffs to line up single file.
Logan rearanged his expression from blank to one of angry difiance.
Patton made himself look afraid, to the point that very convincing tears hung in his eyes.
Virgil hung his head so his expression couldn't be seen.
Roman put on a victorious face, though no one could see it through the mask (let a boi act)
And set his hands on fire, as though they'd just been battling.Logan nodded once ... they were ready as they'd ever be (believe me I know...)
They trooped out of the church. They made it all of 50 meters.
(To be fair, they weren't hiding and roman was glowing)Thirty guards were all around them in moments.
Roman stepped forward
"Greetings, fellows! I discovered these felons skulking in a nearby church! No matter, I was able to subdue them without damage to the building."
The captain nodded.
"Thank you for your service, Prince Charming, step back please."
Roman didn't move.
Virgil took note of the darkest areas of the street.
Logan started analysing what weapons the guards had, and how effective they were.
Patton tried to send the others calm feelings.
They were going to have to fight, and far sooner then they thought.
"Why?"
Roman demanded"We have permission to shoot on sight. They already resisted capture with you, so, they will face death by firing squad to be carried out effective immediately."
Roman was at a lost for words.
He'd messed up, potentially killing his friends.
Logan stepped towards the guards
Patton — MORALITY DAMIT had sent him calm feelings giving him his mind back from the brink of panic, he had to stall."On whos authority?"
He asked, hoping his voice sounded level.Everyone looked at him.
Good."Remuses. Maybe you've heard of him?"
The guards tone was gloating, mocking.Logan didn't like that.
"Yes. I have. However I do believe he is not authorised to give such orders, and it would be a shame if you lost your jobs over us."
This is kinda confusing but basically the story now goes back in time to when logan starts talking.
"— authority?"
Logan was stalling.
Virgil knew that the attention was well and truely off him.
He melted into the shadows and reappeared behind the guard closest to the back of the group.
Careful he removed the gun from its holster. He repeated this until half of the guards were disarmed. Then he got caught.
"HEY!" A guard yelled, finally spying the boy.
Well.
Time to fight then.
Instantly, every gun was aimed at Virgil.
However only 15 of them still had guns.
(Virgil had stowed all but one off them in the shadows)Then Virgil himself faded away, back to his friends.
Logan pulled out a gun from his coat, Virgil handed Patton his gun and summoned the shadows to hide them
(Without obscuring their view of the guards)
Roman summoned his fire. The guns went off.
Virgil was out of the way, but the boys still had to dodge.
Logan was the first to recover.
Within seconds he was in full combat mode.
He shot down guards (in legs, arms and other non fatal places that still forced them to run away)
Patton followed his lead, very reluctantly, more firing warning shots (it was still effective.) then hitting his foes.
Virgil kept them concealed, and used the shadows to knock a few of them out.
He was forced to use his knives only once.
The man on the receiving end of the blade would have a nasty scar, but he'd live.
Roman was a light show.
He was terrifying.
A human volcano.
No one dared approach them, meaning they had a hard time aiming.
Got to close, and they would receive serious burns.Only a lone sniper on the roof of a nearby building stood a chance at success.
From their angle, the supers were fish in a barrel. But the second they shot one, the others would know they were there.
They sighed and aimed at the boy in dark blue.
Patton could feel the exhilaration of victory giving way to exhaustion.
They had to finish this fight soon, or it would end with their deaths. Then, he looked over at Virgil.
His sons powers were draining him and guards were closing in fast.He glanced at Roman.
He was doing ok.Logan was safe to...
Expect for the red dot on his shirt. No time for fear or panic Patton had to
