Virgil's hold was weakening.
Logan was starting to panic.
Sure, Virgil said he could throw knives (though he'd never seen it) and he rarely missed, he wasn't sure he could protect Patton... and if anything happened to the small boy, well, Patton had climbed into his heart and loged himself in.
Logan would do anything to keep him safe and — oh crud.
Patton had ran forward while he was distracted and was now reaching out to grab Romans hand
Romans flaming hand.Roman stopped the flames on his palm, more from shock then anything else.
This boy didn't look like a menacing mastermind, nor a dark stormy handsome WUT NO HE MENT HORRIBLE NOT HANDSOME villain.
He let his guard down.Patton's powers were a curious thing.
He could dull or elevate someone's emotions ... but he couldn't make them come into being, just alter what was already there.
He'd been planning to make Roman trust him more.
Instead he found Romans most prominent emotion to be fear.
Deep down Roman knew (and had known for a while) that ISSPT would hurt him.
Patton took a deep breath and pulled this fear free from Romans subconscious mere seconds before Virgil lost his grip.
Roman stared forward, as if the others were not there at all.
At first it was weird.
Then 5 minutes passed and nothing happened and it was scary.
Roman had gone into peralisis from the shock of realising his life was a lie.
Can you blame him?
Then they heard it.
Sirens.
Then they saw the search lights from above.
An electronic ad showed the faces of Virgil, Logan and Patton, with the words
'Wanted, dead or alive'
Somehow, by some unfatomable chances ... ISSPT knew they were in the city
*cough decite and Remus cough*They needed to
