They came to an agreement; offence.
Emile would foucas in moving people out of immediate danger, while Logan and Virgil took on their enemy.

Logan had tracked the number to an old abandoned looking warehouse.
This guy was a total stereotype.
Hopefully he'd be to busy with a monologue and they could easily defeat him.
He checked his gun, seeing Virgil do the same in the corner of his eye.
Task complete he turned to Virgil and mouthed
'One...
Two..'

Roman Prince looked out the window.
He'd lain low for a while, not convinced that he'd lost remus.
Once he was satisfied that his evil twin had given up, he'd turned his attention to his friends.
No, they hadn't known each other long, but they were bonded by trauma.
He'd mourned for patton.
He'd seen Logan fold in on himself, locking his feelings away.
He'd watched Emile fall apart and slowly rebuild himself.
He'd realised that he loved Virgil.

Perhaps that is what prompted him to do it.
Virgil would probably have been fine, he was clever and fast.
But if something happened to Virgil...
It wasn't even worth thinking about it.
He'd done all he could for the emo.

"THREE"
A window smashed, and two young men tumbled down, ninja like, weapons pointing at the villains back.

"Turn around with your hands in the air!"
Ordered Logan.
"Drop any weapons!"
Added Virgil.

Roman obliged.

"Hey."
He simply said.

Logan got over his shock first.

"Charming, what are you doing here? Some kind of phycopath is using this building as a base of operations for a plan to kill thousands!"

Roman mock pouted
"That's not very nice. Just because I understand that this is needed and you don't..."

Now it was Virgil who spoke.
"It's you, isn't it."
He sounded so dejected and betrayed that Roman just wanted to hold him.
He thought better of it when Virgil held his gun at his head
"I asked you a question."

Roman nodded.
Once.
There was no shame, nor remorse in his face.

"I gave you a warning dearest. I didn't want you to get hurt."
Dearest?
Not important right that second.
Virgils voiced cracked
"But you were ok with killing strangers?"
Roman shrugged.

Something was wrong.
Horribly, terrifyingly, putting-milk-then-cereal-in-that-order, wrong with Roman.

He had lost his mind.
He'd lost himself.
He was mad. Utterly and completely mad, if not insane.

"You've changed."
Acussed logan.

Roman smiled, a sick, demented smile.
"Oh Logie, try wondering dark corridors, alone and starving, no idea if you'll survive for weeks on end, then forcing yourself into hiding, and social isolation for almost two years and see if you stay sane."

It was official: the Roman they knew was gone.

"Is there anything, ANYTING at all, we can do to prevent you from doing this peacefully?"
Begged Logan, not wanting to hurt his friend, desperate to help him.

Roman laughed, sounding increasingly like the joker from Batman.
"There's nothing YOU can do, Logan, but their IS something VIRGIL can do"

"Name it."
Said Virgil, stepping forward and sounding a great deal braver than he felt.

Roman reached out and ran his hand through Virgils hair.
It felt... wrong.
Like something that should have been sweet and loving, but instead was anything but.
Like a meadow of exquisite flowers, all with a poison scent.
It took all of Virgils strength not to punch Roman then and their.
"Stay. Here, with me. You will not be harmed, in any way, shape, or form. I swear, mi flor."

"If I do do you promise me no innocent people will be hurt?"
Roman nodded eagerly

"Virgil, please, you can't be considering this! He's mad!"
Protested Logan.

Virgil turned to him, eyes full of fear
"Then what do you suggest we do, Logan? I can't kill him. Even if who he used to be is gone, I can't do it."

Logan nodded in understanding.
"I suggest we do what we came here to do: apprehend a criminal. If he's truly insane, we have rehabilitation facilities available."
Virgil didn't quite seem convinced.
"And if he beats us? If your plan fails?"
"Then we die, and so does everyone else. But, Virgil Romans promises mean less then nothing, he's deranged."

What were they going to do?

Virgil stays with Roman
