They couldn't risk it.
Roman was to unstable.

Virgil and logan were sure He'd betray them, or worse.
They called there troops back, and set up a fortress, daring ISSPT to even try in their weakened state.

It's an interesting thing, human instinct.
It tells us to move away from danger, although wether said danger is real or not is often up for debate.
This time however, the danger was real.
Very real.
And closer then you may think.
They had a mole among them.
A filthy stinking rat, much like the one in the real Romans cell.

Virgil entered the immaculate holding cell, still a little cautious of the man sitting on the hospital clean bed.

Far away Roman fought against shackles on a dirt floor.

"Hey, Romano."
The boy on the bed smiled at him.
Though all reports came back deeming roman sane, he had an unsettling glint in his eye.
"Virgil."
That was it. Just his name, as if that itself was the most wonderful thing in the world.
Virgil blushed.
Roman grinned.

Through his shape shifted form, decite grinned.
They were oh so easy to manipulate.
Shift into the boy, torture some awnsers out of him, and they were putty in his hands.

I am so so so so so so so so sorry...

The rebellion had a strong defence on the outside, but no way to protect themselves from the snake in their walls.

"How are things?"
Asked roman, snapping Virgil from his blushed daze.
"Alright, Logans a bit on edge, but hey, aren't we all?"
Roman laughed and nodded.
An alarm blared and Virgil shot up.
"I have to—"
Roman cut him off
"Go, go save the world, my dark night."
Virgil ran off, blushing like the dam fool he was.

Decite had him right where he wanted him.

Roman was far away and unable to help, Virgil suspected nothing, Emile was far to busy to realise, and Logan would do anything to convince himself that he was long gone.

He walked to his window, opened the curtains and turned the light off.
On.
Off.
On.
Off.
On.
The patten telling remus that they were distracted.
That if ISSPT attacked, theyd win.

Not far away, remus noticed the signal.
He ordered his men to change.

And charge they did.

With decite feeding them information about what defence was where, and the dazed distracted state they were in after the false alarm, the rebels never stood a chance.

Remus walked right in to the conference room, flanked by guards.
"Listen up, here's what's going to happen.
You"
He gestured around the room
"Surrender, and face execution for your crimes."
Logan looked unphasesd
"And if we don't?"
Remus giggled
"If you dont, and frankly I really hope you choose this option, we leave. We hold you under siege for months and when your half dead already, I will tell you to surrender again, and you will be far to weak to argue."
"I don't understand"
Voiced Virgil
"It's fairy simple-were going to kill you."
"No I got that, but why are you fixated on us surrendering? Why not JUST kill us?"
"Virgil what are you doing?!"
Hissed Logan.
Remus was somber
"If we kill you, we can be twisted into the villains. If you confess to your crimes, then no one can claim your innocence I will leave you to discuss, don't try anything."
Remus I hate to break it to you but you always were the villains.
What are they going to do?
Logan spoke up
"Hear me out. We surrender"
"What!"
Yelled Emile and Virgil in unison
"We surrender— and we use the media attention to get our message and the truth, to the public."
It was a decent idea, but if it failed, they'd all die horrible, public deaths.
