Chapter 16

Josh's POV

I was on my way to meet with Layla when I saw Chloe sleeping by my car in garage. I didn't wanna wake her up because, she probably didn't sleep well on the garage floor cement. I picked her and, carried her inside with her head on my shoulder not wanting to wake her up.

Once I walked inside with her Lucas saw me and, asked "Where the heck was she?"

"I found her sleeping in the garage by my car." I said walking upstairs to her room.

Once I walked into her room I put her on her bed and, covered her up. As she just snuggled deeper into her blankets. She always reminded me of Greyson I honestly don't know why they don't get along they argue like cats and, dogs although its kinda funny.

I walked back downstairs and, heard Brandon ask everyone downstairs "Has anyone seen Chloe?"

"Yeah I found her sleeping in the garage by my car." I said getting my car keys to go meet Layla which I'm now late for.

"What was she doing in the garage?" Greyson asked laughing as he started chocking on his breakfast.

"I don't know but, don't wake her up and, I'm late for Layla now so bye." I said walking out the door back to the garage.

Chloe's POV

I felt someone put me in my bed and, cover me up. I heard someone talking but, was to tired to make out who it was so I just continued to sleep. I was really cold I'm still freezing and can't stop shaking. I remembered my whole phone incident and, took it out of my pocket setting it inside my nightstand drawer.

I felt really weak and, can't stop shaking or sneezing. I'm more than confident I'm sick but school starts tomorrow and, there's no way Brandon is gonna let me stay home and, miss the first day so I'm forced into waking up early in the morning so I can go learn while I'm sick lovely.

I decided to get out of bed at 5pm but, walked downstairs with my computer this time instead of my phone because, that's currently having technical difficulties at the moment and, I'm probably gonna have to buy a new one which is gonna suck because, my money isn't in LA.

Once I walked downstairs I sat at the kitchen Island where Jackson was and, just kept coughing non-stop. I didn't even open my laptop to check my messages and social media that was connected and, backed up from my phone.

"Chloe cover your mouth your getting germs everywhere." Greyson said walking into the kitchen.

"I can't help it." I said in a hoarse voice over using it.

"Stop talking." Jackson said pointing to me.

"J-." I tried to say but, he cut me off the minute I tried to talk.

"Chloe Rose not a word Greyson get out." Jackson said kicking Greyson out.

When Greyson walked out Jackson sat down next to me and, said "I'm taking you to the doctor so go get ready."

******Skip to the car*****

Jackson was driving me to the doctors. When we got there he signed me in while I waited for him to finish I went on my laptop. Jackson sat by me and, said "You probably have a cold which explains why your shaking and, sneezing but, I wanna get you checked for laryngitis because, that would explain your hoarse throat and cough I didn't want Greyson near you because, I didn't want him getting sick."

I tried to talk but, had no voice at all so I just texted Jackson off my laptop saying "School starts tomorrow."

Jackson said, "Yeah your not going if you have a cold and, laryngitis."

The doctor called us back and, got my height and, weight which were all normal, after she asked me all the personal questions. It came time for the thing I dreaded the most when she did my physical and, looked down my throat. What scared me the most was when she started writing things down. She then asked to talk to Jackson alone so I stepped out into the hall.

Jackson's POV

"Are you her legal guardian?" The doctor asked looking at what she wrote down.

"Yes." I said trying to get her to cut to the chase faster.

"So when I did the examination on her throat I noticed she had a cold but, she needs her tonsils removed their infected which can happen when exposed to the cold for to long since she's already having difficulty talking I recommend having them done as soon as possible but, it's up to you." She said being really understanding.

"What are the earliest openings you have?" I asked trying to get this done as soon as possible.

"We can do August 1st 8am or August 2nd at 10am." She said checking her calendar for openings.

"We'll do August 1st 8am." I said smiling at the lady for helping us.

"Ok see you then she can't eat or drink anything within 24 hours before the procedure here's some pills for her throat and, liquid medicine for her cold until then." She said handing me a list of things she can and, can't eat or drink afterwards along with the medicine.

I thanked the lady and, walked out into the hallway where Chloe was.

When we got in the car I said, "I'll tell you the plan with everyone else but, for now just don't talk until you get the medicine in your system."

The rest of the car ride was silent but, when we got home I gathered everyone into the living room while Cole watched Chloe take the medicine making sure she actually did and, didn't lie about it.

"Chloe just swallow the freaking medicine." Cole shouted from the kitchen.

"No, it looks gross." She said forcing out a whisper that was hoarse.

"Stop talking before you make it worse and, just swallow the freaking pill." Cole said getting frustrated with her.

Chloe pushed her head into her arm on the table and, sighed.

"I don't know what the big deal is it's literally just you simply placing it on your tongue and, then drink water to help swallow it." Cole said going on his phone.

Chloe swallowed the medicine and, Cole let her come join us in the living room.

I explained the plan to everyone and, everyone agreed except for Chloe.

"Why didn't you do August 2nd?" She asked still with a hoarse voice.

"It's a day difference does it really matter?" I asked confused on why she cared so much about a day.

"No, I guess that's fine." She said sighing out.

Lucas looked up at me and, said "You should've chose August 2nd."

"Why its a day different." I said looking at him confused as I raised my voice.

"Not that it matters and, not that I expected anyone to remember but, August 1st is my birthday." Her face dropped from ok to looking sad as she walked upstairs to her room.

Lucas looked at me and, said "Nice going Jackson."

Guys, I am so sorry for the late update there was a lot going on so I didn't have time to type this up. (Sorry this was really bad I had serious writers block.❤)
