Chapter 53

Chloe's POV

I woke up to Cole shaking me like nuts so I slowly open my eyes seeing him and, asked/said "Cole what are you doing Its freaking seven in the morning go back to bed."

He looked at me and, said "I wanna take you somewhere I'll explain on the way please just come with me."

Once I got up and, walked over to my bathroom he threw clothes at me and, said "I'll be downstairs just get ready and meet me down there but be quick I wanna leave before Brandon wakes up."

I did my morning routine and, meant Cole downstairs in the kitchen watching him write 'Chloe and, I went out be back later oh this is Cole by the way.' He stuck the note on the fridge as I started putting on my Vans. As he took his keys off the counter he began to walk outside leaving me still in the house.

Since I didn't want to keep Cole waiting I hopped out the door still trying to put on my other shoe has he continued to rush me out of the house. Once I got into the car I sat in the passenger seat buckling up so I didn't have to sit in the back alone.

He studied me for a minute and, said "I'll let it slide just this once don't make it a habit and, don't get me in trouble."

I nodded my head yes and, said/asked "So Cole Bryson Miller do you wanna tell me why you woke me up at seven in the morning rushing me out of the house?"

He glared at me and, said "Lose the attitude for one and I'm going to explain something to you and it's really important so I need you to listen to me very carefully."

"Chloe before you were born you had an older brother named Cameron he recently turned 25 so technically he would be our oldest brother. When Cameron was ten years old he was on his way to his friend's house when he was crossing the street a car was speeding and, didn't see him so he got ran over and, he didn't make it." Cole gave me a minute to process that when all of a sudden I started crying.

He turned to me and, said "Chlo he's in a better place now I'm sorry you never got to meet him the twins were only two when he passed away. Your sense of humor actually reminds me of him so much. He was my best friend Jackson actually took Lucas down to his grave yesterday so I decided I would take you because, I haven't visited in three years now and you've never been down there either."

I turned to Cole and, said "He's been gone for fourteen years but you guys never talk about him or bring him up."

Cole sighed as he said "That's because we didn't want to upset you like we knew it would because your crying now but I wanted to be the one to tell you what happened Instead of you finding out the hard way. Besides Brandon kinda pulled a few lose strings and has a surprise for you later and wanted me to get you out of the house."

"Cole I knew about him for three days now I heard you and Lucas along with Jackson talking about him I just didn't wanna bring it up to anyone. I also knew he got ran over I'm sorry." I said knowing I might've hit a nerve.

He took a big deep breath and, said "You know if you heard us talking about it we would've cut you some slack yesterday and, we would've let you asked about him he's your brother too you deserve to know about him too."

I nodded my head and, said "Cole can I ask you something?"

As he turned right he said "Yeah you can ask tell me anything go ahead."

I slowly turned to him and, asked "What was Cameron like?"

He took a minute to think and, said "Your actually a lot like him. He loved to make people laugh, he was a very patient person, always wanted a younger sister, he was really smart, he wanted to be a brain surgeon and, he loved cars like he could name almost all the sports cars."

After Cole said that he pulled into the parking lot and, parked the car I unbuckled then got out waiting on Cole. Once he got out that's when I noticed he didn't have his sling anymore I looked at him as he just smirked and, said "Took you long enough to notice I got it off earlier today that's why I woke you up because, I was already up."

To be honest I don't even know what to say to that so I just "That's nice."

He started laughing and, said "Yeah It is speaking off your the one who broke my own wrist thank you very much."

"Your welcome by the way your tan line is so off you should get that fixed." I said joking around with him as he lead me to Cameron's grave.

Cole started teasing me back and, nudged me I tried to nudge him back but he wouldn't move so he started laughing and, said "Your so weak you can't even move me a centimeter."

I patted his stomach and, said "Then lose weight you big fatty Its free to do, you just go outside and move."

He started tickling me and, said "I'm sorry what was that Cole is your favorite brother."

I fell in the grass which was actually someone's grave laughing as I said "No, I-I said y-your f-fat and, that l-losing w-weight Is f-free."

He tickled me even harder until I started to cry from laughing too hard. Once he stopped tickling me he took a look at the headstone and, sat down next to me in the grass. I sat up and, took a look at the headstone that read 'Cameron James Miller'. I walked over to this patch of sunflowers leaving Cole alone at the grave and, picked some.

Once I got back I pulled this circular thing up out of his headstone and, saw it was a little vase, putting the flowers inside the lifted up vase.
