Chapter 40

Chloe's POV

I took a minute to think over what Ashton said and, how I'll get passed my brothers but I guess I could work something out thank gosh It's the weekend. As I was thinking this over I got It everyone would be sleeping by then so then I could just creep downstairs and, leave through the back door so It would be harder to notice me being gone.

The time slowly turned from one hour to the next and, that's when I noticed I was the last one up. I stuffed pillow under my blankets helping it look a little on the lumpy side after I was pleased with how the pillows were positioned under my blankets I walked over to my closet and, went through all my clothing options.

Soon I came across an outfit that was a black and white striped long sleeve short with a black jean skirt that was on the shorter side and, paired that with my white Adidas but, looked cute together so I went with it. After I grabbed my phone off of the charging dock I quietly started walking downstairs making sure I didn't make a peep or leave a trace behind that I snuck out.

Once I made it to the front door I slowly opened it making sure it didn't creak ruining my whole plan. After I was one-hundred and, ten percent sure the coast was clear I slowly shut the door avoiding all noise possible and, started walking to the pond were Ashton and, I first meant.

As I was walking to the pond I started thinking about what he could possibly want to talk about at midnight. I'm just thankful I made It passed all six of brothers without waking any of them up in the process. 

Right before I walked through the gate that boarded the pond and, bridge I read a sign that said 'No trespassing pond closes at dusk.' I ignored the sign as I saw Ashton sitting down in the grass where It meant the sidewalk around the pond with a fountain in the middle.

I slowly walked over to him and, sat down next to him as he talked about everything he needed to get off his chest. When he was talking the only thing I could think about was him being in my life permanently maybe even years and, years from now I just want him to promise me he'll stay and never leave me. 

He noticed I was zoning out and, said "Chloe Rose Miller I like you a lot I don't wanna be your friend anymore I wanna move forward in life with you as my soulmate." Once I took in what he said I let him finish.

This boy is someone I need in my life after his long pause he took a deep breath and, asked "Chloe Rose do you wanna be my girlfriend?"

I felt my heart skip a beat as he asked me that and, shook my head vigorously as I said "Yes Ashton Zane Taylor I would love to be your girlfriend."

We watched the stars glisten in the darkened sky as he leaned close to me wrapping his jacket around me like the other time and, kissed me sweet and passionately. I kissed him back as our tongues fought for dominance over the top.

After he won some Idiot must've called the police on us because a few moments later the cops showed up and, said "Well well well If It Isn't my good old cousin Ashton Zane Taylor and Chloe Rose Miller I'm gonna make this quick because I'm more than positive your mom doesn't know your here and, I know Jackson doesn't know either."

Ashton quickly flipped his head so It was facing the officer and, said "Shit Mason I know your a cop in all but just this one time you gotta let this slide she has six older brothers if they find out she snuck out not only am I dead but, she's gonna be in trouble and I seriously like her."

After I processed what Mason just told Ashton I said "Wait Ashton you never told me Mason is your cousin and, knows my brother not that It really matters but Jackson is going to so kill me he never lets things slide with me and, now when he finds out I'm done."

Mason just watched me freak out and, said "Oh well looks like I should take you home then because you have a lot of explaining to do and, I'm sure Jackson wants to have a word or two with you as well as your other brothers let's go as for you Ashton start walking home your mom is already informed."

I slowly got into the police car as Ashton started walking home. The minute Mason got in the car I looked down at the floor and, asked/said "Your not gonna call Jackson are you? I'm really sorry I seriously didn't mean any harm I just wanted to meet up with Ashton."

He looked at me and, said "No actually your going to call him and I'm not starting the drive to your house until you call him so hurry up I'm supposed to already be off patrol duty by now but, I got a call last minute saying someone was trespassing at a local pond."

I looked at Mason as he leaned back in the driver's seat expecting me to use his phone and, asked "Could I just call him off of my phone?"

After he shook his head no I started to scroll through his contacts seeing Jackson's number towards the bottom and, clicked on It hoping he wouldn't answer but of course with the Chloe Charm nothing ever plays in my favor and, he decided to make my life more difficult.
