Claudia's mouth was hanging open as she waited for the woman on the phone to hand it over to Finneas. The wait was painful. We seemed to be waiting for a few long, long hours when it was only a few seconds until Finn's raspy voice broke when he spoke.

"Love?"

Claudia covered her mouth with her hand for a moment and i could see she was about to cry. I placed a hand on her shoulder to comfort her as Gemma hugged her from behind.

"Babe. What happened? Are you alright?" Claudia could barely get the words out and it took me a while to try and understand them. The end of the line was quiet for a moment before Finneas spoke again.

"It was my fault."

Gemma and I shared a look before Claudia asked.

"What was your fault?"

"The accident. I found out our driver was drinking but only because i saw the open bottle beside him. His driving was fine. Of course i was angry but then i saw the amount of empty bottles on the passenger seat and i lost it. I shouted and shouted and even leaned over to hit him but he rammed into the car in front of us before i could touch him." The sobbing coming from Finneas was heartbreaking and tears were streaming down Claudia's face.

"Finn, don't blame yourself. He was drinking. I mean, it would've happened sooner or later." Claudia murmured. "You didn't answer my other question. Are you alright?"

I could hear a sigh on the other end and what sounded like bedsheets being pulled and pulled in all directions.

"I'm alright. I just can't get fucking comfortable in these hard beds! They're keeping me in because i've got a cut on my belly." Finneas groaned loudly and Claudia laughed slightly, brightening the mood.

"You're never comfortable, baby. Anyway, how's Billie?" Claudia asked him and glanced at me from the corners of her eyes. Gemma moved away from Claudia and took my hand in hers again. Finneas stayed quiet for a moment.

"Come on, Finn, how's Billie?" I asked impatiently, nervously gnawing on my bottom lip.

"She's- shes's not good. She tried to stop me hitting the driver and she was leaning on me so she went- oh fuck, i can't do this." Finneas started to cry into the phone again. I strayed away from Gemma and Claudia, walking in front of them in the sand. I had my head up, looking into the beautiful blue sky, but mainly to stop tears from escaping my eyes. I didn't want to know what happened to her. She's not good, apparently.

"Fuck this shit." I mumbled to myself, throwing my hands into my pockets and walking in the sand until i found a huge patch of grass. It was situated perfectly on a level hill to look out at the sea and your children playing in the sand, if you had any.

I climbed the small hill and sat myself down on a rock that was among large strands of grass. I looked down over the sea, watching the waves crash back down into the water. The sound was relaxing, almost helping me to forget the terrible things that have happened already and are happening. I could see a familiar green-haired girl walking in my direction on the sand. I honestly didn't want to talk to anybody but the company would be nice.

Gemma cautiously sat on the grass beside me and sort of leaned her head on my arm from where i was sitting on the rock. Again, my hand was in hers and i just stayed quiet as i watched a couple walking hand in hand below us.

There was a slight breeze then, causing my hair to whip to the side harshly and Gemma groaned slightly, brushing her hair to the side with her fingers. A small smile tugged at my lips as i watched Gemma struggle with her thick hair blowing everywhere. I pulled a hair tie from my wrist and handed it to her, using the other to put my own hair up.

"Thank you." She smiled at me and i smiled back, a bigger smile this time. Her hair now behind her head. It was a messy ponytail, but it looked sexy. I always told Billie that when she had her hair up.

"Shit." I mumbled when my mind drifted right back to Billie. It immediately made me feel sick and i gripped into Gemma's hand harder. I could feel her eyes on me.

"Wanna go home, Mia?" Gemma asked and squeezed my hand reassuringly. It only then dawned on me that Claudia wasn't here when i was about to ask Gemma how we were getting home.

"Where's Claudia?" I perked up, letting my tongue dart out to lick over my dry lips.

"She went to the hospital where Finn and everyone else is at. I stayed to make sure you're alright. We can Uber home." Gemma responded, taking out her phone, presumably to call an Uber.

"Can we go see Billie?" I asked hopefully, tasing my eyebrows.

"Oh, babe, i don't think that's a good idea." Gemma's lips formed into a thin line and i sighed, shaking my head.

"Right." I pulled my hand from hers and started to walk in the direction we came from. It wasn't Gemma's fault, i was just being a dick.

I could hear Gemma's quiet footsteps behind me and i shut my eyes momentarily when she wouldn't walk by my side. I looked back at her and her eyes were focused in the sand. I stopped in my tracks and waited until Gemma caught up with me, before walking with her.

She jumped once i slipped an arm around her waist and pulled her into me.

"I'm sorry, Gem. Ignore me. I'm just-"

"I know. Don't apologise. You're all good." Gemma shot me a smile and i grinned back at her.

We were soon in the back of an Uber, discreetly trying to tap the sand out of our shoes. I stopped my actions once i heard that familiar sound of 'bad guy' playing throughout the car. I couldn't bear it.

"Switch it off."
