*I'm running out of ideas for clever author's notes. But one person who will always be clever is JK Rowling, the creator of the Harry Potter franchise and the person who owns the characters in this fanfic. By the way, this story hit 1000 reads..  holy crappers that's a lot.*

An extremely bald man wearing a perfectly tailored tailored maroon suit entered Draco’s office, “What the hell are you doing?”

To be honest, Draco wasn’t doing anything. He had finished all of his work before ten am and now he was just sitting at his desk, staring at the wall like a lunatic. It had been a slow week and Draco had milked every asset he had, trying to find properties to sell but, he had come up short. The only thing he found was an old warehouse in Greenwich but he didn’t have any interested buyers.

Now that bald guy in his office, Draco’s boss, was coming to check up on Draco. Draco liked his boss but he really wanted to take a nap and if he fell asleep in front of the man who signed his paychecks, he many not get any more. Not that it mattered financially, Draco just liked the routine of waking up in the morning and doing something with his life.

Draco picked up a pen off of his desk and wrote random words on the piece of paper in front of him, “Oh you know, just doing some ah- work.”

The man raised an eyebrow, “And what work would that be?”

“The paper kind,” Draco lied confidently.

“Just go home. I know you finished your work and there’s nothing for you to do here.” The man said with a smile, “You’ve worked hard these last few months, take the rest of the day and Monday too. Take a break, you deserve it.”

Draco nodded excitedly, “Thank you sir, I appreciated this.”

It had been weeks since Draco had visited Hermione’s office out of the blue. Most of the time he owled her beforehand or they planned their little dates ahead of time. Today, he wanted to surprise Hermione with a little gift.

He knocked on the door and he heard a bit of shuffling and a loud 'come in'. Hermione was sitting at her desk, as usual but there were stacks of red file folders labeled ‘classified’ sprawled across the oak surface.

Draco pulled a bouquet of red roses from behind his back, “I know you aren’t fond of big romantic gestures but I couldn’t help myself.”

Hermione smiled as her brown eyes locked onto Draco’s silver ones, “Those are lovely. I wonder who they’re for.”

“They’re for you,” Draco gave Hermione the roses and placed a kiss on top of her head, “I also have a question for you.”

“What’s the question blondie?”

“Will you go to Paris with me for the weekend?”

Hermione chuckled, “You’re kidding right?”

Draco shook his head, “Nope. You, me, a few bottles of champagne, and the city of love.” Draco glanced at his watch, “If we leave now we can make the twelve o’clock train.”

“Draco, I have work to do, I can’t just leave in the middle of the day to go to Paris.”

Draco smirked and pulled a note out of his pocket and passed it to Hermione, “I have a note from your supervisor giving you the weekend off, and Monday.”

Hermione Granger must take the weekend and Monday off for personal reasons. She may not revoke this time off.

Hermione scanned the note and scoffed, “How did you manage that?”

Draco shrugged, “That’s for me to know and for you to want to know. So, Paris?

Hermione gathered her things and stacked the classified folders neatly onto her desk, “We have to go to my flat so I can pack.”

“Already covered,” Draco responded.

“What do you have planned, you cheeky bastard?”

“You’ll see.”
