*Vola message amis, à Paris! I think that's the lyric. And just a warning my french is super rusty because I haven't used it for a couple of months.... Any way let's talk about a cultured queen, JK Rowling. She wrote the Harry Potter franchise and well all rights go to her because she's amazing.*

The train ride was going very fast. Hermione had been to Paris before but she had always gone to the city of love for business. Draco surprising Hermione with a trip was exactly what she needed. She was incredibly stressed and all she needed was a few days to regain her sanity. She loved her job but these last few weeks had been extremely tense. The International Confederation of Wizards met regarding the International Population Expansion Act and they needed a translator. Naturally, they asked for Hermione’s assistance because of her golden girl track record. They were debating on expanding the time frame and the number of required offspring. Hermione thought the entire situation was absurd and voiced her opinion when she thought they had gone too far but it ultimately wasn’t up to her.

“Hermione, what’s distracting you?” Draco asked with a curious smirk, “Are you picturing me naked, because that would be quite distracting.”

Hermione rolled her eyes and slid closer towards Draco, “I’m not picturing you naked, you self centered nimwit.”

“Ouch.” Draco wrapped an arm around Hermione’s shoulders, “So what’s on your mind?”

Hermione sighed, “Work.”

Draco shook his head, “No work talk. You need a break.” The train came to a screeching halt, Draco grabbed Hermione’s hand and lead her out of their compartment, “I love you darling and I know you love your job, but you need to take a chill pill. You’ve been working non stop for the past couple of weeks and that’s not healthy. I don’t want you to think about work for a few days”

“When did you start saying ‘take a chill pill’? You’ve never been one to take on muggle slang.”

“That’s the only thing you got out of my little speech?”

Hermione shook her head, “No, I just wasn’t going to bring up my job and I thought that was a good distraction.”

They made their way outside of the train station and a sleek black SUV was waiting to pick them up. They drove through the city and Hermione marveled at the sights in front of her. She had read about Paris and all of glory but she had never seen it for herself. From the beautifully detailed architecture to the legendary art pieces, she wanted to see it all. Hermione just hoped they would have time to see all of it.

The car stopped and a smartly dressed man opened Hermione’s door. She stepped out of the car and looped her arm through Draco’s. They walked into the luxurious hotel and Hermione was impressed by the highly embellished interior and crisp looking staff.

“Hermione, I hate to break it to you but my french is a little rusty, You may need to translate for us,” Draco said.

They walked towards the front desk and they were greeted by a woman in a perfectly pressed uniform, “Bienvenue a Le Bristol. Je m’appelle Joline, avez-vous une réservation?”

“Oui, Malfoy.”

“Ah, oui. M. Draco Malfoy en la Suite Royale, jusqu'à lundi,” the woman replied. “J'ai besoin de vos informations de carte de crédit et d'un identifiant pour confirmer la réservation.”

“Draco, give Joline your credit card and passport.”

Draco did what he was told and handed the woman his passport and plastic card. Joline typed a few bits of information into her computer and handed Draco his belongings and a slip of paper for him to sign. Draco signed the piece of paper without reading it and gave it back to Joline.

Hermione raised an eyebrow, “You aren’t going to read it?”

“I would if I could.”

Joline handed Hermione the room key, “Merci. Bonne journée Madame et Monsieur Malfoy. Si vous avez les questions, s'il vous plaît demander.”

“Merci bien, Joline.”

Hermione walked towards the elevator but Draco stopped her and pulled her towards the front door, “Oh no Ms. Granger. As much as I would love to take you up to our room we have to find you clothes and then go sightseeing.”
