*I'M SO EXCITED THAT I NEEDED TO UPDATE TWICE IN ONE DAY TO TELL THE INTERNET ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE. I got another dog, her name is Terrah. It wasn't official until like an hour ago so I didn't want to jinx in the last chapter. Okay now for some more good stuff. And another warning, I know nothing about weddings nor do I know anything about English weddings so if this is not traditional, go cry to someone else or JK Rowling the creator of the Harry Potter franchise. I'm sure she would love to listen to wining people on the internet (that was sarcasm if you didn't understand).*
Draco hadn’t seen Hermione in nearly twenty four hours. Well, he hadn’t seen her in twenty three hours and forty seven minutes, not that he was counting. Who was he kidding, he was definitely counting. He just wanted to see Hermione walk down the aisle but he had to wait for their wedding party to parade down first. Draco thought their little show was taking way too long. Yes, Hermione’s ginger friends looked dashing in their suits. Yes, Teddy made an adorable ring bearer and Hermione’s little cousin was the cutest flower girl Draco had even seen but, he just wanted to see the love of his life.
At the rehearsal dinner, he asked Ginny about Hermione’s dress so he could prepare himself and Ginny immediately said no. She claimed that words couldn’t describe how beautiful Hermione’s dress was. In all honesty Draco thought that was a pile of unicorn shit. No dress was that beautiful, it was the woman wearing the dress that made it beautiful. Any designer could throw together something that was appealing to the eye, but the model made the piece come to life.
The music shifted and the priest signaled the wedding guests to stand. Draco’s palms began to sweat. He wasn’t nervous a few seconds ago, now he can’t stop thinking about the big what if in their little situation. What if she sees him and turns around? If she ran, the ministry probably wouldn’t find her after the law was up. She was the brightest witch of her time, after all. If she wanted to run and hide away, she definitely could.
The church doors opened and Draco came face to face with the woman of the hour. He now understood Ginny’s words, but he really understood his own. Hermione always looked beautiful but today she had a glow about her that Draco couldn’t quite put his finger on it. She just had a smile that reached her eyes and he could tell that she was happy. Her dress fit her perfectly and the delicate lace highlighted her curvy figure.
When she reached the end of the aisle, her father lifted her veil, placed a kiss on her cheek, and shook Draco’s hand. Hermione placed her hands in his and he instantly relaxed. Everything in the moment was perfect.
The priest looked between the two and smiled, “We are gathered here today to celebrate with Draco and Hermione as they proclaim their love and commitment to the world. We are gathered to rejoice, with and for them, in the new life they now undertake together. Draco and Hermione, the relationship you enter into today must be grounded in the strength of your love and the power of your faith in each other. To make your relationship succeed it will take unending love. It will take trust, to know in your hearts that you truly want what is best for one another and to learn and grow together. It will take faith, to go forward together without knowing what the future holds. If you both come freely, and understand the responsibility and work involved to make your relationship thrive, and are committed to not only each other but your family, please take each other by the hands and reply 'we do.'”
“We do,” the couple replied in unison.
“Now it is time for the exchange of vows,” the priest announced.
“I, Draco take you Hermione to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God’s holy law. In the presence of God I make this vow.”
“I, Hermione take you Draco to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God’s holy law. In the presence of God I make this vow.”
“Now it is time for Draco and Hermione to exchange rings, a symbol of love and everlasting devotion,” the priest announced.
Draco gently took her left hand and slipped a diamond encrusted band over her engagement ring, “I give you this ring as a sign of our marriage. With my body I honor you, all that I am I give to you, and all that I have I share with you, within the love of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.”
Hermione slipped a carefully crafted golden band onto Draco’s ring finger, “I give you this ring as a sign of our marriage. With my body I honor you, all that I am I give to you, and all that I have I share with you, within the love of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.”
The priest gave the couple a bright smile, “I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride.”
Draco smirked, dramatically dipped his wife, and planted a sweet kiss upon Hermione’s lips.
