*Oh hi there, It's me, the author with a message from beyond. I just wanted to say hi and that JK Rowling wrote the Harry Potter franchise.*
“So how does it feel to be married?” Luna asked the couple.
They sat close enough so their legs touched but not so close to make Luna uncomfortable at their lovey dovey behavior. It took a lot to make Luna uncomfortable so the couple’s precautions were unnecessary. She’s seen couples do much worse within the confines of her office when they thought she wasn’t paying attention to them. Hermione and Draco tied the knot two weeks ago and were finally settling into married life. Living together posted it’s challenges but it was nothing the young couple couldn’t handle.
“It feels great,” Draco smiled, “I just wish I was a morning person.”
From the corner of her eye, Luna saw Hermione roll her deep brown eyes at Draco’s claim. This was her first session with both Hermione and Draco. It was her first opportunity to see how they interact together outside of public situation, “Why do you want to be a morning person?”
“My lovely wife likes to wake up at five in the morning to go to yoga instead of cuddling in bed with me,” Draco smirked, “I offered to go with her but she said I wouldn’t be able to keep up.”
Hermione laughed, “You can barely touch his toes, going to a yoga class at the crack of dawn when you’re half asleep is a bit out of your depth. I don’t want you to get hurt.”
“Draco,” Luna addressed, “It seems like Hermione has your best interests at heart.”
Draco wrapped an arm around Hermione’s shoulders and smiled, “She always does.”
“How did you feel after she told you about-”
“I didn’t tell him,” Hermione interrupted, “I said I’d tell him when the time is right and with the wedding and work, it just didn’t seem like the right time.”
“What about now?” Luna questioned, “Now is a perfect time. You have a mediator just incase the conversation gets out of hand plus this is a safe space for both of you to talk.”
Hermione uncomfortably shifted in her seat and turned towards Draco. She looked distressed, like she wanted to sink into the cozy blue couch and melt away. Go somewhere far away and avoid this conversation. Draco took her hands in his and rubbed soft circles into her skin. He wanted to calm her down as much as he could. Whatever she wanted to tell him was obviously a touchy subject, so if he could make it easier, he would.
Hermione took a deep breath and looked gazed into Draco’s grey eyes, “You know I love you, right?”
“Yes I do. You tell me everyday,” Draco said with a nervous laugh.
“Please remember that after I finish talking.” Hermione swept an out of place hair off of Draco’s cheek and her fingers lingered on his face a bit longer than necessary, “In between you and my previous relationship, I went through a phase. I had quite a few sexual partners and not all of them were men. I should have told you earlier but I didn’t know how.”
Draco raised an eyebrow, “So you were worried to tell me that you slept with a few women? Hermione I don’t care, we’re married. As long as I’m the only person you’re currently shagging, I’m okay with your past.”
“That’s not all of it,” Hermione started cautiously, “About a month before the law was announced I was out with a woman and someone took a photo of us in a fairly compromising position.”
Draco gulped, “How compromising?”
“Blunt or gentle version?” Hermione asked.
“Blunt.”
“Her hand was up my dress and we were snogging quite intensely,” Hermione responded. “It took a lot of bribing and an interview but I got the photo but it can’t be destroyed. I’ve tried everything; scissors, cursed fire, actual fire, banishing, and I came up short.”
“Where’s the photo?”
“In our vault. In a charmed safe.”
Draco physically relaxed and pulled Hermione into a tight hug, “Everything will be okay. Gringotts is basically a fortress, the only people that successfully broke in are you, Harry, and Ron. There is nothing to worry about. That photo will rot in that safe for as long as we live.”
Draco didn’t know if he said those words to ease Hermione’s anxiety or his own. He suspected that Hermione had her own dirty little secrets but he didn’t expect this. Either way, it wasn’t a problem in his eyes.
