*Oh hello didn't see you there because we are all at home being responsible and social distancing like good humans. I bet JK Rowling, the creator of the Harry Potter franchise is social distancing so if you think about it this way, if you social distance yourself you're one step closer to being JK Rowling. Also, I fell into a Pinterest trap and sort of make an indepth pintrest board for a next generation sequel and I'm debating whether or not I should actually write it. Also I'm struggling narrowing down girls names, I'm down to three and no they are not the stereotypical Lyra and Narcissa becsuse I took a deep dive on Wikipedia's star/constellation page and found some gems but I'm still open to suggestions because there is only one chapter after this one until the Epilogues.*
***What do you want to see in the Epilogues/sequel?***
***Would you read a sequel?***
Choosing a color scheme for a baby’s room was a difficult task for the Granger Malfoys. Draco wanted to drench the room in various shades of green because the color “stimulated brain growth” in young children. Hermione suspected that he wanted to condition their future child to subconsciously be loyal to Slytherin. They painted and repainted the nursery four times and they still could not come to a decision.
“Love, green is still a viable option,” Draco voiced.
Hermione scoffed and turned to examine the wall once more, “I know what you’re doing.”
Draco encircled his arms around Hermione from behind and rested his hands on her belly, “I may be biased, but I just want to best for our little one and he or she just happens to end up in a more preferable house I would not be opposed.”
“I do not care what house our kid ends up in,” Hermione laced her fingers with his, “They could go to Beauxbatons or Durmstrang for all I care. I just want them to be happy.”
“There is no chance in hell that my kids are going to school that far away from home.”
Hermione knew the protective weirdo was going to be a wonderful father. Throughout Hermione’s pregnancy he was an angel; he went to every doctor’s appointment, birthing class, and even cut his work hours so he could cook dinner before she got home from work. Oftentimes, Hermione thought he was trying too hard to be the perfect husband. It was like a switch flipped as soon as they discovered Hermione was pregnant. Every little thing in their home needed to be perfect before the enfant arrived, including the nursery.
“We can save that discussion for a later date, right now we need to pick paint colors.”
“How about we decide the theme then the colors should fall into place. When I was little, my nanny charmed my ceiling like the night sky. It was my favorite feature of my room,” Draco confessed.
Hermione leaned into Draco’s chest and looked up towards the blank white ceiling, “Stars?”
“Yes,” Draco planted a sweet kiss on his wife’s temple and spun her so they were facing each other, “Millions and millions of stars just above their head, every night.”
The doorbell sounded and Hermione untangled herself from her husband, “I’ll get it. Charm the ceiling.”
Hermione waddled out of the room to answer the front door. She looked through the peephole then drew her wand. The young witch always expected the best out of people but it is difficult to trust someone who attempted to tarnish her public image and slowly poisoned her.
Hermione cautiously opened the door with a tight grip on her wand, “How did you get past the wards?”
Narcissa Malfoy was impeccably dressed, as usual. Her cream colored robes were perfectly tailored and not a hair on her head was misplaced. A few more grey hairs peppered her light blonde do but she stood taller than ever, even when facing a woman she attempted to muder.
“Hello Ms. Granger.”
“You have exactly one minute to tell me how you got past the wards and explain why you’re here,” Hermione said in a low tone.
“Your wards were trivial at best and I wanted to talk about my grandchild.” Hermione stood still in the doorway and Mrs. Malfoy raised an eyebrow, “It’s rude to let company sit outside.”
“You lost the right to be a grandmother after you did what you did. Now please get off of my property.”
Hermione attempted to close the door but her monster in law’s foot stopped it, “Please, Ms. Granger. I want to apologize. Draco is my only child and it would kill me if I couldn’t get to know his children.”
A cold look flashed across Hermione’s face, “You should have thought about that before you killed your grandchild. They were completely innocent in all of this and they didn’t even have the opportunity to prove themself. I may not be able to let you see your grandchildren now or even years from now, that’s Draco’s choice because you share a bond that I will not be responsible for severing. Now if you could please remove your foot from my entry way, that would be ideal.”
“Ms. Granger-
“Granger Malfoy. Mrs. Granger Malfoy, I don’t know if you’re aware or not but we share a last name because I married your son. The son you so desperately want a relationship with and if any of what you just said was true, I suggest you go.
“Hermione,” Draco’s voice boomed from inside of their home, “I’m finished with the nursery. I know you hate charming furniture but I thought yellow was a perfect color for the crib-” Draco stopped when he saw Narcissa through a crack in the door. He gently pushed his wife behind him to block her from his mother’s view, “What the hell are you doing here?”
“Sweetheart, I wanted apologize for everything I did-”
“I do not want to hear anything you have to say. When we are ready to let you into our lives, we will. Now get your ass off of my porch or I will hex you into a pile of goo.”
“Draco-”
“No, mother. You put my wife in danger and my chance at having a family in jeopardy. I don’t know if I will ever be able to forgive you but let me come to you when I think I can. Do not force your way back into my family because you annexed yourself after you poisoned my wife with one of her favorite things. She loved Lavender tea, then you came along and had to turn something she loved against her. I will not let you do the same with our children.”
*Name suggests for the Granger Malfoy child(ren) welcomed!*
