*I have to go to school tomorrow, on Freshman day. I get like one extra day off of school and I have to go to school. Why, universe? Why? Also why didn't I invent the Harry Potter franchise? I could use a fat check right about now but ofcourse JK Rowling came up with the idea first.*

This was not the brightest witch of her time’s brightest idea. The ball started in forty minutes and she was freaking out. Hermione loved Draco with all of her heart and she wanted to just tell the world about their relationship because hiding it was royally exhausting. Draco and Hermione only went out to muggle restaurants had movie nights at Hermione’s flat. They wore caps every time they went somewhere more public and she was sick of the constant hiding. Publicly sharing their relationship could gain them more attention but at least they wouldn’t have to worry about fake stories being spread by the Daily Prophet.

Hermione took a deep breath and triple checked her outfit. Her floor length black dress hugged her body nicely and accentuated her curves. She managed to spell her hair into a nice updo and her plump lips were painted bright cherry red. The finishing touch was the necklace Draco gave her two Christmases ago. Hermione has worn it almost every day since Draco gave it to her. The only times she hadn’t were when she sent it to Madame Markin’s to get polished.

Hermione stared at her engagement ring and contemplated wearing it or not. She had worn it to the office and family gatherings but this was different. There would be cameras and reporters searching for a juicy story about the war heroine and she didn’t want them to abuse her relationship with Draco. She looked at the ring one last time and smiled. Everytime she looked at the golden piece, she smiled because it reminded her of Draco and the future they were going to have. Hermione slipped the ring onto her left hand and tried not to overthink it.

Draco came through her fireplace and she relaxed. As long as he was by her side, she could get through this. She walked over towards him and planted a kiss on his lips. He instinctively wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to deepen the kiss.

Draco broke the kiss and smirked, “What was that for?”

Hermione blushed, “I needed a bit of encouragement.”

“I can help with a bit of encouragement,” Draco moved his hands closer towards Hermione’s hips and plants soft kisses from her shoulder to her neck. He slowly began to unzip Hermione’s dress but she caught his hand.

“Draco as much as I would love to continue this little event, we have a party to attend.”

“Can we continue this afterwards?”

Draco nibbled on Hermione’s ear and she felt weak in the knees, “I’d be delighted to.”

Draco rezipped Hermione’s dress, threw her over his shoulder and headed towards her front door, “What’s your rush Draco?” Hermione said through a laugh.

“The faster we make an appearance at the ball the sooner we can come back here and I can take this dress off of you,” Draco replied, “And you look very nice by the way. I love the way your arse looks in this dress.”

The carriage pulled up at the venue fifteen minutes late, not that Hermione minded. She needed to fix her lipstick and spell red lipstick off of Draco’s white collar and it was easier said than done. Even with magic, the red lipstick was nearly impossible to get out of the garment.

“Draco will you please stop trying to get in my pants so we can go?”

Draco nodded and readjusted his bow tie right before the driver opened the carriage door. Draco got out first and held out his hand for Hermione and she gracefully stepped out of the carriage. As soon as she did a band of reporters surrounded the carriage and started yelling over one another. The couple ignored them and walked into the ball hand and hand.
