~~~Astrid's POV~~~
Pain rushed up my bad ankle and I was left sprawled on the rooftop.
Get up, get up, get up.
I looked down at my scraped hands and couldn't hide the crazy smirk that appeared on my face.
I did it.
Without even bothering to look back, I began to jump from rooftop to rooftop.  Some were close and easy to jump to, but others were quite the challenge.  After jumping to the abandoned building I had chosen as a destination, I went to the roof access door and kicked it open.
As badass as it sounds, it took me seven tries, a lot of cursing, pain in my bad ankle and pure panic.
I'm pretty sure adrenaline was the one responsible for letting me open that door.
Thanks, adrenaline.
I ran inside, found a nice office, and hid.
I didn't know how long I was in there.  I just know that I remained hidden under the desk until my heartbeat receded.  Until I could properly breathe again.  By the time I rose and went down the stair quietly, I saw them walking down the street, sure that they had lost me.
Quietly, I followed.
They went back to the restaurant.  EJ was still sprawled on the ground where they had left me when they pursued me.  They tied him up and dumped him in the trunk.  Then, they got in the car and begun to drive.
For a brief moment, I wondered.  Hey, how am I supposed to follow?  And then I realized that if I didn't move, I would lose them.  So I took a deep breath, and jogged after the car, at a distance.
It was easier than I expected.
Honestly, I thought they would speed off and I would have to sit down and contemplate my life.  But first of all, they didn't even go that fast, and second, their hideout was very close.
Harder than following was remaining hidden.  It was hard to follow effectively when I have to remain out of sight, I didn't want them getting suspicious. As they pulled up to an abandoned warehouse, I thrusted my fist upwards in victory.
I just can't seem to lose today.  Lady Luck smiles upon me.
I watched as they opened the trunk and the blonde one picked up EJ's unconscious body.  Then they stepped inside the warehouse.
Quietly, I scouted the area for an entrance.  Finally, I found an open window.  As I sneaked inside my heart pounded so loudly I was afraid they would hear it.  I remained low, listening intently for voices of footsteps.  Concluding that I was in an unused part of their hideout, I began to walk.
The room where I had been held was very likely underground.  So I kept my eyes peeled for any door or stairs, or anything that could lead down.
At some point I came upon a room that was filled to the brim with weapons.  Ranging from daggers, to maces, to swords, to bow, to pistols, to rifles, to grenades.  How could something so dangerous could be in a place so...  Open.  Anyone could get in here and steal that.
I was about to turn away when I noticed needles on the table.  They were all labeled differently.  I grabbed one that said 'Adrenaline' and grabbed two that looked eerily like the one they had used on EJ.
I also grabbed a gun, but I was sure that I wouldn't use it.
Now armed, I kept walking.
I was in the middle of a hallway when the door to my right opened.  Without thinking, I turned to the person and jabbed the needle into his upper arm, injecting him with the liquid.
He promptly collapsed.
I looked through the door and found stairs leading downwards.
I knew leaving the man there was a bad idea, but I didn't have anything to tie him up with.  Plus, these things seemed to last long, so maybe I could be in and out by the time he woke up.
One down, that's one more to go.
And the one that seemed like the leader, I hoped he wasn't there.
I made my way down the stairs and heard screaming.  There was a door in front of me.  It was coming from within.
"I told you!  Argh!!!"  There was screaming and groaning.  "I don't- I don't know."
I slowly turned the doorknob, taking a deep breath to brace myself for what I was about to do.
It wasn't too late to back down.  They were killers, maybe they deserved it.
I shut my eyes and nodded.
I was here.  I was here and I wasn't leaving now.
I took another deep breath and opened the door.
