~~~Astrid's POV~~~
One day.
By the time I was taken to my house, a whole day had passed. After kindly dressing my wounds, they had insisted on putting a bag over my head so I didn't see where they were holed up. And then they had kindly given me a ride to my house. By the time I walked inside the front door, I only had one possible lead.
The license plate.
I caught a glimpse of it as the car sped away and commited it to memory. However, all of that information escaped my mind as I opened the door and was immediately met with a wall of flesh.
After my initial panic, I realized it was my mother.
"Where have you been!? What happened to your face? Your room was a mess, the window was open, there was blood on the couch! Your phone was broken, what the hell!?" My mother screeched, squeezing the life out of me and very probably destroying my wounds.
"Miss Kline, I think you're killing her." A familiar voice said. Katy? What was she doing here? Finally, my mother released me. I raised one hand.
"Shh. I'll explain everything, just... I haven't eaten all day. I'm hungry." I said. Immediately my mother nodded and led us to the kitchen. I glanced at Katy but didn't say anything.
"Look, Astrid... I wanted to-" She began, but I cut her off.
"It's okay. Let me get some food in my system and we can talk about everything. But trust me... After what happened..." I merely shook my head.
In just a few minutes, there was a plate of leftover spaghetti in front of me. I dug in gratefully.
"Okay, so I know you won't believe me. But I've got to tell the truth anyway." I began. My mother frowned.
"Honey, there's blood on the couch. I think I'll believe you." She said, to which Katy nodded.
"Okay, so after the party, I came back home. I started to watch a movie, whatever. Someone calls me to tell me to pick up Katy, I'm sorry I couldn't pick you up by the way." I turned to Katy. She just shook her head like it didn't matter. "While I was on the phone, I realized that there was someone in the house. Now I know this next part is outrageous, but I'm pretty sure he was a serial killer. Like a famous one, like... His name is Jeff-"
"Jeff as in Jeff the Killer?" My mother asked, her face paling.
"That one." I said, snapping my fingers. "Creepy smile, no eyelids, pale skin. He was going to kill me, but of course, I was having none of that. I kicked him and pepper sprayed him, and ran into my room, which I barricaded. I jumped out the window."
"Wow. I can't believe you escaped." Katy said, sounding surprised.
"I didn't." I said. "Someone tackled me, he had a mask, I couldn't see his face. It was like a navy blue mask, there was black paint running down the eyeholes like tears. He said something about wanting my kidney? Either way, the Jeff guy caught up and they agreed to kill me or whatever. I passed out. When I woke up, I was effectively tortured, but not by them, we were caught by other people. They were also torturing the Jeff guy, I didn't see the masked one."
"They tortured you? Is that why you have the bandage on your face?" My mother asked.
"They wanted to know where 'the mansion' was. And I think they said something about a slender something-"
"Slenderman." My mother suggested. I nodded.
"That. You seem to know about this." I said turning to her. She didn't say anything. "Either way, upon realizing that I was innocent, they decided to let me go, since I hadn't seen their faces. On the condition that I kept quiet. Proof."
I stood up from my chair and pulled up my shirt. My torso was wrapped in bandages. They both gasped.
"Astrid, you need to get to a hospital." Katy said.
"What will I tell them? I can't. If I tell them the truth, those men might kill me for breaking my end of the bargain. Plus, I'll be fine." I stated. They didn't seem to like it. "Please, don't tell anyone. You guys could get in danger."
"So the Jeff guy is still being tortured... And kidney dude is on the run?" Katy asked. I nodded. "Oh... That's... Oh no."
"It's okay. We're all going to be just fine. Now, I'm awfully tired, so if you'll excuse me... I'm gonna sleep." I said. My mother frowned.
"Alright. But tomorrow we're talking to the police. You don't have to tell them about the men, but this Jeff character is dangerous. We'll deal with that tomorrow, however. In the meantime just... Go to sleep."
