~~~Astrid's POV~~~
I waltzed into my house, glad to be back in familiar ground.  Jeff remained behind, keeping an eye out for the men who had kidnapped us.  I had warned him that they knew where I lived, so he was keeping a watchful eye out.
I had received a call from my mother on Jeff's phone on the way here.  I gave her a short update.  I told her that I was still alive and well, that I was healing pretty quickly, and that I was gonna make a pit stop at home to grab some stuff.  After telling me to be careful, she hung up to attend to business.
Jeff remained in the living room area of the house while I ran upstairs to my room to gather my stuff.  I grabbed my school backpack and dumped the stuff on my bed, packing a few things.
By the time I was done, I walked downstairs to find Jeff sitting on the kitchen counter drinking a margarita.  I put my backpack and computer bag down and frowned.
"Did you just make that?"  I asked, glancing around the kitchen.  Sure enough, I could see the various ingredients strewn about.
"You were taking a long time, plus all the ingredients were here."  He said, offering me a glass.  I was actually taken aback at the fact that he had served some for me, but I declined it.
"I don't drink."  I simply said, shaking ny head.  He held it in place for a few seconds before finally shrugging.
"Suit yourself, that simply means more for me."  His smile grew wider if that was even possible as he drank some more.  I grabbed a coke from the fridge and hopped up on the island counter across from him.
"How do you even keep the food inside your mouth, how does it not dribble out of the cuts?"  I asked curiously.  He stopped drinking for a moment and stared at me.  For a second I thought that I had hit a sore topic, but he merely shrugged again.
"Practice, I guess."  Was all he replied before he went on with the margarita.
In all honesty, I was actually glad that we were getting along now.  Going to sleep with the fear that he might stab me to death was horrible, and having him glare and snap at me all day was tiring.  Plus, when he wasn't pissed and moody, he was actually fun to be around.
I was too busy thinking about these things that I almost missed the shadow moving in the living room.
"Hey, Jeff?"  I asked quietly.  He merely looked up and hummed in response.  "Did you lock the door like I told you to do?"
"Yeah, why?"  He asked, furrowing his eyebrows.  Before I could reply, I heard glass shattering and a figure jumped into the room.  A second too late, I realized they had gotten in through the window.
"Jeff!"  I yelled, as if he hadn't seen the man in the room.  When Jeff didn't reply, I glanced at him and was shocked to find another man holding his unconscious body.
What was it with their stealth?
I jumped down from the counter, grabbed my bags, and ran.  Of course, they followed, and they were smarter this time.  They grabbed their guns and began shooting, missing every single time.  I didn't give it much thought as I ran out of the house and almost ran into their car.
Which was still running.
Without thinking, I leaped inside the driver's door and looked at the door.  They began to shoot at the car, but the bulletproof glass protected me.  I flipped them off before speeding off.
'I'll be back for you, Jeff.  I promise.'  I thought as I left the house behind.
Five minutes later, I was standing on a payphone dialing the number written on the palm of my hand.
Honestly, I was sure that Katy wouldn't believe half of what had happened, plus, she already knew too much.  I really wanted to keep her out of this.  I didn't want to worry mom, and I didn't know the numbers of any of the other people in the mansion.  That left only one person.
"Hello?"  A familiar voice replied.  I almost wept in relief.
"Sky!  Oh, thank God!  I need you to meet me in the library, ASAP!"  I demanded.
"Astrid?  What's up with you? You missed game night, and you were asking me for location on a license plate and now you're calling from a phone that's not your own?  You haven't done anything illegal, right?"  He asked, and I was sure that he wasn't going to like the answers.
"Library.  Now."  I replied hanging up.
~~~

I was sitting on one of the tables, staring down at it when someone sat across from me.  I looked up to see Skylar glancing at me with a concerned expression.  I had taken off my bandage so he wouldn't stare at my face, but now he was staring at the exposed cut on my cheek.

"Did you have a run in with the mafia or something?  What the shit?"  He asked, looking at me.

"Okay, okay.  This is going to sound insane, but Sky, please hear me out."  I began, putting my hands on the table.

"As long as you don't tell me that aliens abducted you, I'll listen."  He stated.  I faltered for a moment, realizing that what I was about to say was almost as crazy as aliens abducting me.  He paused.  "You didn't...  Get abducted...  By aliens...  Right?"

"No, I didn't...  But...  I just...  It's just as crazy."  I said.  He nodded for me to continue and before I knew it, everything came pouring out.  Even the details I didn't tell my mother or Katy.  I told him everything.  Before I knew it, tears came spilling out.  The pressure of everything that had happened, I was so scared.  He led me out of the library and we went for a walk.  After I was done, he merely hugged me and held me close.

"Shhh, it's okay, Astrid.  We'll figure it out.  Come on, let's stop at my place."
