Cyrus POV
I hate dragons. But I really hate ice dragons.
We're now on a sloped hill, the ice and snow makes it hard to stay balanced. Lubbock is setting up his thread as we go, and Doya is shooting at it. But that only seemed to annoy it more.
It roar pierced the sky and sent shivers down my spine. It sounded like scratched a chalkboard. I look at Lubbock for what to do.
"What? You think I have an idea on killing it?! Your the expert on killing dragons!" He yelled.
I guess he's right, I glance behind me. The thing is two stories tall, it has a wing span of about ten feet on each wing. It's legs moved fast, but I notice something...
"It's heel! hit its heel!" I yell at them.
Doya smiles nervously, "Why do that?"
Lubbock looks back at it, and sees what I'm talking about. It's pretty obvious actually, that it's heel is very wide open, and we cut it or damage it on this slope... it'd fall down... all the way down.
"I'll distract it, you two do your magic!" Doya said as she stopped and started to shoot at its face. It roared in anger and charged at her.
"Shit, let's go!" Lubbock said quickly. We each took a side, I took right, he took left. Flanking it wasn't that hard, all we had to really do was make sure to stay behind the trees so it wouldn't spot us.
"Now!" I yelled as I jumped from the tree and slashed it heel wide open with my sword. I look over at Lubbock and see that he wrapped Thread around in leg, and cut it that way, making it topple over in the process.
It made a disheveled roar, but smacked its face into the solid ground, making it do a tiny but noticeable whine. Me and Lubbock high five.
We hear Doya down the slope, "You idiots, run!"
We look down the slope at her in confusion, and she's running like crazy. Where was she going? we have the upper hand, don't we? Lubbock turns around and taps my shoulder.
"I think we should run." he says quietly.
I turn and see what he's talking about. It seems that the impact from the Dragon shook a little snow off the cliff above the slope. And when I say a little, I mean a lot. Me and Lubbock run.
"Avalanche!" I scream.
We rustle through bushes and trees, everything in our path we broke through, even the horned bushes. Soon we caught up with Doya, who was screaming at us to run faster.
Lubbock ran ahead of us both, sprinting like a maniac, it was hard to tell, but Damn he's fast. Me and Lubbock both wince when we hear a short yelp.
Doya had tripped, twisting an ankle on a root from a tree that was hidden beneath the snow. She tried to get up, but to no avail.
I'm about to get her when Lubbock flies past me, running to her aid.
Lubbock POV
"You dumb girl!" I said once I grabbed her. I look behind me to see the avalanche closing in, it'd get here in seconds. I hear Cyrus yell in a panic.
"We need to move, now!" He yelled, turning back around to keep running. I had no time for this, I grab Doya and put her on my back. And I run, faster than I thought I could.
"Sorry." Doya said in my ear, she sounded like she was about to break down. "I'm useless."
My temper was being tested right now, so I blew.
