Lubbock POV

"Do it."

"No."

"Why not?!"

"Because."

"That's not a reason!"

Getting Cyrus to talk to Chelsea was harder than I thought. We're in his room, just us two. Seems that Cyrus's friend, Kyler, is a very good chef, so him and Akame are cooking dinner.

Cyrus cupped his face with his hands, sighing heavily. He was so worried that Chelsea hated his guts. I told him she didn't, but how am I supposed to know what she's thinking?

"Listen. All you have to do is have a simple conversation with her!" I said, pushing him in the shoulder.

He looked up at me. "Like what?"

I groan. "I don't know! How about starting with, hello Chelsea, how have you been doing? or something like that, huh?!" I said, getting up in his face.

Cyrus looked out the window, down by the waterfall. He stared at it for a long time, I waited for him to say something.

Then...

"Tell Chelsea that I want to train down by the waterfall. I need to test her skills anyway." He said, getting up to walk out.

"Hey! Training is the best thing you can come up with?!" I said, stopping him.

He sighed. "If I'm moving my body, I won't have to focus all that much, it'll clear my head. Plus, the waterfall reminds me of Susano." He said sadly.

I looked at the ground and let go of his shoulder. As we walked out, I see Doya down the hall, calling my name. I turn to Cyrus as I'm about to leave. "Your problems are a luxury you know!"

I ran off, leaving a surprised Cyrus in the hall. he hasn't changed, not on the outside anyway. I could tell there was a bursting fire in him that was just waiting to get out.

Cyrus POV

I walked onto the rock, looking at the waterfall from top to bottom. This place reminds me of Susano, Tatsumi and me training. It warmed my heart, making me smile.

Hearing Su had died, made me feel a bit sad. But I have to forget for now, I can mourn once this country is free of corruption. That's what I vowed, that's what I'd do.

I clenched my fists, as they engulfed in flames. I haven't used my Teigu at all ever since that last fight. Time to exert the strength I gained into my Teigu.

I run up to a boulder, and punch it head on. at first, only one crack showed up, a loud splitting noise came. Then the whole boulder exploded into shards, making it rain shrapnel.

I put out my flames as I see a figure appear from the forest.

Chelsea looked more mature than back then. Her hair had grown more, reaching more down her back. She still had that sucker in her mouth, making me want to laugh a bit. I couldn't help but look at her figure, scanning her from top to bottom.

Seeing this, she blushes a bit, looking at the ground, and pulling her skirt down, trying to cover her legs. The gesture was cute, but I'm not here to flirt, not yet anyway.

"Ready?" I said, getting into a fighting stance.

At first she was surprised by this, then she got on a serious face and got into a ready stance. I instantly see some bad technique in her stance.

"Keep your back foot ready to push forward, and your arms have to be more firm. Relax your shoulders, only tense them when your attacking or defending." I instructed.

She fixed all that, then looked at me with a stubborn look. "There, that better?"

I charge at her, not even answering. I throw a punch, and she ducks, sliding her foot across the ground and tripping me. Damn, she had gotten better at combat since then.

As I fell backwards, she implanted her knee into my back, I coughed up when I fell to the ground.

She grinned down at me. I smirk. "Your so lucky I was going easy." I said.

She held out her hand out, and it took me awhile to take it, pulling me up. We stared at each other, both of us smiling. Then I let go, and looked back at the waterfall.

"I'm sorry." I said quietly.

Her smile disappears, but she takes a step forward.

"I understand. You don't have to-"

"But it's true!" I said, interrupting her. "If I was here I would've been able to take Esdeathe, and Su would be alive."

Chelsea's face was shrouded by shadows, not speaking. I clenched my fists, angry at myself.

"I wasn't strong enough to save Leone. And I wasn't here for Su. I'm such a klutz, a worthless piece of Shit-"

I stopped talking when a hard slap went across my face.

I slowly looked down at Chelsea, her face was angry, glaring at me. She suddenly wrapped her arms around me, hugging me tight, making my heart leap. I missed her hugs.

"Be strong." She said simply. But that simple statement was enough for me. Because she was right, I have to be strong. I want to wrap my arms around her, but I don't know if I have permission. I keep my hands at my sides.

Chelsea let's go, then looks up at me with a stubborn face. "Now what will be your punishment for leaving me?"

I sigh, jeez. "What will it be?" I said.

She thought for awhile, then she grinned. She took a step forward, pressing into me. "Can you guess?"

Our faces were about an inch apart, I could feel her breath tickling my face. Her scent was different every time I met with her, today it was Cherry.

She stands on her toes, lifting up. Our lips connect and fireworks burst into my head, it was wonderful. I had been waiting for this moment, this feeling. I wrapped my arms around her finally, and pulled her closer, deepening the kiss.

Once we let each other go, we both are out of breath. She stares up at me with a lightly shaded pink face. Her eyes tell me she wants more, to pay for the time we spent apart. I hate to admit it, but I wanted it too.

I kiss her again, intensity rising. She moaned in delight, making my heart do another 360. We practically are breathing each other.

We let each other go, taking deep breathes. We hear the dinner bell ringing. Kyler's cooking was awesome, and with Akames help, their dishes should be fantastic.

Chelsea have me a last little peck on the cheek, then ran off to the base, giggling with happiness. That laugh always got to me, making me blush a bit.

Maybe the future would hold a bit of happiness for me.

Cyrus is now motivated to move on. Chelsea is back in high spirits. Mine and Tatsumi are busy being "lovey dovey" in front of Lubbock. Kyler and Akame are cooking buddies now, and Najenda is happily smoking in her office, still mending her wounds. What could go wrong?
