Lubbock POV
It's been a month.
a month and no new mission, no jokes, no fun...
And definitely no Cyrus or Leone.
The HQ felt empty, and lonely. Tatsumi seemed too shocked to talk to anyone, he only told us that Leone died, Nox is dead... And that Cyrus was going to be going solo for awhile.
The only reassuring part about this was that Cyrus would come back. He will, won't he? I mean... He called us his family, no way would he give that up because of this... right?
All I do now is go fishing with Susano, train, and sleep. It's like that everyday. Sometimes, me and Susano will have contests on who'll get the most... But we both knew it was just a mindless game meant to cheer us up, so we stopped.
Najenda apparently has something planned for tonight, a new mission. It's been a month, and I'm afraid I've gotten rusty.
have a little faith in yourself, Lubba! That's what Cyrus told me.
I miss him, but not more than I'll miss Leone. Even though she never took me seriously, played pranks on me, and even picked on me... I missed her so god damned much it hurt. It's like the one light in the group flickered out, and now there's only a dim, barely visible lantern in darkness. Our hope was dwindling.
And don't get me started on how Chelsea reacted. At first she was passed at Cyrus for leaving, now she's sad and won't talk to anyone. I thought it was my duty to cheer her up, since Cyrus is my friend and all... but all she said was, "I'm fine." with a big fake smile.
Akame told me to leave her, and that Cyrus was facing his demons. When I asked her why, she looked at the ground and sighed.
"All assassins go through it once in their life... Cyrus will... just like I have." She said as she walked back to her room.
Facing his demons, huh? And how Tatsumi described Cyrus during the fight. I seriously thought my buddy went bonkers. I hope he can pull himself together by the time we meet again, I don't want me or anyone else to see him like that.
In the dining hall...
I sat at my usual spot, eating some of the snacks from the pantry. No one was around, so I guess I should take the time to relax by myself. But I was wrong.
"Watcha doing?" Doya said behind me, making me jump.
"jeez, don't sneak up on me like that!" I said, a little more harshly than I anticipated.
She looked hurt, nice going Lubbock, you Damn smooth talking machine. Now look at what you did!
"S-sorry! I'm just on edge." I murmured.
Doya slowly nodded and looked out the glass plain in the dining hall. She seemed to want to talk about something, but what? Whatever it was, I can't do it right now, I'm thinking too much about the mission.
"How you holdin' up?" She asked.
"I'm fine." I said simply.
The truth is, I'm not fine. Of course I'm not fine. All this bullshit happened and now the whole group seems to be falling apart! I chat let that happen... ever. This is my home... Just like Cyrus, their my family.
I smile. "Hey, wanna go train by the waterfall?" I asked.
Doya's face slowly rolled up into a big smile, she blushed a bit. "If you want..."
I get up from my chair. "Then let's go, were burning daylight!"
I ran out of the dining hall, there's no use in being sad... that's not what Leone would want. I've gotta pull the group together again, but how? After this big mission, I'll go back to being the comedy relief, maybe that will help? no, I'm changed, sure I can still spout a joke here and there, but now I seem not able to do it all the time like before.
