Cyrus POV

My chest felt hollow, I couldn't feel anything, as if my world around me didn't exist and there was no earth, no wind, no sound. Rokgough stood across the clearing from me, readying his whip. I remember that he was really skilled with that whip, he never left anywhere without it.

I look down at my sword, can I really do this? Can I kill the man that saved me from despair so long ago, the man who was my light... my hope. It felt so wrong.

But I remind myself, that he's gone. Even though he said my name, doesn't mean he's there, he died, from that bitch eating her damned snacks. I know Akame said that it's her responsibility to kill her sister, but that thought flew out of my mind the moment I saw my masters face...

I'm going to slaughter Kurome.

My thoughts are interrupted by Leone, who is dodging bullets from the gunslinger girl, Doya. Doya seemed to have a smile on her face at all times, as if she were having fun. She wore cowgirl clothes, at first I thought it was funny looking, but it actually suited her. She had long blonde hair, a little more shaded than Leone's, but much longer.

"Hey! you gonna stand there, or help!" Leone yelled.

It was a tender moment for me, but I didn't hesitate, I blasted flames out of my hand straight at Doya, hitting her with a direct hit. She flew back and hit a tree, but didn't get burnt, looks like she came prepared, she has fire proof clothing on, Damn.

As my attention is directed elsewhere at the moment, I hear Chelsea gasp and yell, "Cyrus! look out!"

I turn back to my master to see that he's not even five feet away from me, Damn I forgot how fast he was. He snaps his whip and catches my leg, wrapping the end into it. He pulls the whip, making me trip on one leg, falling on my back.

"Gah!" I hit my head hard on a rock sticking out of the ground, my luck sucks.

I could feel the back of my head heat up, which meant blood was coming out, not good, soon I wouldn't be able to fight. I need to end this quick.

I get up and run swiftly across the plain, right at Rokgough. His expression doesn't change, seeing as he's a doll now, but I could tell he's evaluating how fast my movements are, seeing how to take me down. Funny, me and him know the same tricks, this'll be hard.

As I run, I pull out my crossbow, firing a bolt at him, he moves his head, dodging it by a few inches. I load another shot as I get in closer, I've got to do this!

He snaps his whip again, hitting me in the arm, leaving a nice gnash. He keeps doing this as I get closer and closer, until I find myself slowing.

I'm covered in blood, My head is thumping, my heart is slowing. Am I... dying? I look over at The others. Lubbock, my best friend, I never got to go to that club he always talked about. Leone, funny, but always knew how to cheer me up. And Chelsea...

Suddenly my heart starts to run faster.

No way am I going to die here... I thought.

I make eye contact with Rokgough as he stands above me, on my knees, bloody. His eyes are pure white, no emotion. This needs to end.

"H-hey... remember that time... when you gave me the name Smoke?" I ask silently. Rokgough tilts his head, readying his whip again. And as he snaps it-

I catch it, latching it on my arm. It rips my skin, but I don't care. I pull forward on the whip, making him stumble in surprise. I lunge, pushing my sword forward.

I hear a death defying wet sound of piercing skin. Rokgough's body slumps onto mine as his body engulfs in flames, but right before he disappears into ashes-
