⤚ Foxes in the Dark ⤙

Issei

SINCE I first discovered my gift I had deemed it a blessing. Being able to see through nature's eyes and see things that most couldn't. It helped me out so much and let me advance past certain things and solve certain things. It was a blessing.

Until I saw Akiya's kidnapping. It became a curse. The moment Ena came home with the news that Akiya was missing and it was believed to be a kidnapping I knew. His kidnapper had to have been of the supernatural species. I believed it to be an unstable one.

Kitsunes were incredibly hard to kill with only two known methods; a werewolf's bite which was a coin flip and a foxfire blessed blade. A werewolf would be stupid to come onto a claimed werewolf territory, and the little wolf's wolf made it evident that this was her territory.

I had seen that wolf before. Both from the trees eyes and with the memories my spirit shared with me when mother had me under her control. And it was a massive wolf, even if she lost weight her form would still be massive and it made sense why she fought her wolf so much.

Werewolves had bloodlines and she was from a massive and monstrous one no doubt. Whoever sunk teeth into her when she was human had to have been quite the werewolf. A wolf that is turned is almost like a child to the one who turned them; form wise of course.

But I had seen the nature's view of the wolf that roamed the woods. Every animal here including the black bear who roamed respected and feared Storm when she came through. No werewolf would be stupid enough to step here and kidnap someone as well. It was suicide itself.

But a kitsune had taken Akiya. They had it all planned out. It was a premediated kidnapping making me wonder how long they had been planning to kidnap him. But an actual kitsune has kidnapped Akiya. Which explains on why he didn't really get a chance to fight them.

The tree showed that Akiya was barely able to conjure his foxfire before the male kitsune knocked him out and had him on the ground. Akiya barely even had a fighting chance against this male kitsune before he had him down and was dragging him off to the van to steal.

But that kitsune, he was older than Daiki and I. And Daiki was nearly seven centuries old. There was no way in the world that we could possibly defeat him. He was older than us, and I doubt Ena would even be able to either. And Ena was older and powerful I could see it.

But that male kitsune. Something about him was familiar and the feeling wasn't settling well with me. I didn't like how familiar this male kitsune looked. And I couldn't figure out why he would kidnap Daiki of all people. Of all of us kitsunes. Akiya hadn't done anything.

Sure he was incredibly smart and aware for his age, but that didn't mean anything. He wasn't that big of a threat for them to literally kidnap him, stuff him in a van and then disappear off into the night but they did. And the familiar look of that kitsune didn't settle well with me.

I hated the fact that I couldn't exactly put his place, but something about him. I didn't like it. And my spirit wasn't being the most cooperative when it came to things such as this. My spirit liked to play tricks on me as well and he was amuse by my frustration.

Once more Nightshade was in the room with me sitting across from me on Daiki's bed. "You okay?" Nightshade asked looking up at me. "Just thinking." I responded and Nightshade nodded at that. "About what if you don't mind me asking." She was straight to the point.

It was something I liked about Nightshade, she didn't beat around the bush in times such as this one. "I saw who took Akiya." I spoke. "Why aren't you doing anything then?" She asked oblivious on how I had seen it. "It's not what you think Nightshade." I told her as she watched.
