⤚ And She Rises ⤙

Araya

AKIYA was the one who brought me dinner when the sun began to set. The rusty door pushed open and I looked up. Akiya closed the door behind him as he balanced two plates in his hand. With them gone I got a good look at the room.

It became obvious that Raiden wanted a daughter, his daughter; me. And that he had never once in his entire thousand year old life had a daughter. The room was painted a shade of pink with a bed with pink comforters on it. Akiya paused as he looked around the room.

"It's ugly." Akiya stated as he sat his plate down. I glanced at the katana at his hip as he came up behind me. And then he untied the rope restraining me and set it down on the floor. "If you think about running I'll knock you out so fast." Akiya said.

All I could do was nod. I wasn't able to fight him. The only thing I had on me was the small hidden Chinese knife. And since Akiya had that katana so close to him it just wasn't plausible. I looked at Akiya as I sat down on the bed.

I had to remind myself this wasn't my twin. This was something else in his body. Akiya put the plate down next to me before leaning against the wardrobe his eyes on me. "It's messy since dad did it in a whirl. He was pleased at the thought of a girly daughter." Akiya said.

Dad. The word was foreign on my tongue. That man— that nogitsune is my father. Akiya leaned against the wardrobe his eyes on me. "The food isn't poisoned if your wondering, your better off alive than dead, and poison, store bought can't kill you." Akiya spoke.

I glanced at him as I looked back at the neatly rolled sushi. He wasn't my brother. This was something else using his body. His face. Trying to manipulate my feelings to work to him. I hated the thought of that. How dare he do this to Akiya, my innocent twin.

A smirk crossed his face. "I know that expression. You think I possessed your brother don't you?" Just him saying that was more proof that this wasn't Akiya. This was a nogitsune spirit I was dealing with. And I didn't like the odds I had. The last nogitsune I faced off was Daiki.

And his spirit liked me. He has a thing for me. Which was the reason he hadn't harmed me. I knew nothing about this nogitsune. Except that he is my twins body. Akiya smiled and laughed just a bit as he stepped forward until he was eye-to-eye with me.

"Oh Ara," He was using Storm's beloved nickname of mine and I hated it. "I'm not possessing your dear brother. He's still here, I'm just in charge. You see he's even scared of me hurting you right now, but I won't hurt you. Unless you try something." It was a threat.

Akiya smiled as he touched a strand of my hair and I leaned away. Akiya snickered. "But sweetie I'm not an invasion, I've always been here. Just buried beneath by our mother. You'll understand one day. The only one who is a light kitsune is you." Akiya mused.

He sat down next to me and got up on the bed as he looked at me. "Quite a coincidence that the first twins born in centuries happen to a be a kitsune and nogitsune. As if to terrify the kitsunes around." Akiya said and I watched him unsure of what he meant.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked unsure. Akiya grinned as he leaned towards me and gave a pleasant smile. "Well Ara, twins in the supernatural world are feared for many reasons. I don't know them all, but I know the twin kitsune story." Akiya said with a smile.

"You want me to tell you it?" Akiya asked. I nodded. "As long as you agree not to bolt if you get the chance." Akiya responded. "Bolt?" I asked, a play on words. "Yeah bolt past me when I get up. I mean you won't get very far." Akiya said looking at his nails.
