⤚ Foxes & Wolves ⤙

Storm

THE forest of Whispering Willows was a vast and dangerous place when you venture into it alone without knowing it. Willows was a town where the supernatural species could easily hide and blend into everything. But most had taken flight until recently; I knew this well.

Ena was the only supernatural I knew of— specifically of the shifter race. So I knew her children Ara and Aki would be kitsunes as well. The barn that was rumored to be haunted was owned by some druids, then the nogitsunes rolled into town. Now Daiki and Issei inhabited the town.

Then came Nightshade; half ghost rider half human. Something new, something we had never dealt with but we managed. But I was the wolf of Willows. It's what the passing supernatural or the animals named me. The monstrous possessive she-wolf who fought her human every chance that she could get.

Little did they know it was the other way around, I fought the wolf every way I could get upon realizing the person it was turning me into. And I wouldn't stop fighting, the wolf was a monstrous one. Although it was in it's blood to be that way it seems.

The werewolf who turned me came from a feared and monstrous bloodline causing my wolf to form that way. But in a time such as this one the thought of the one who bit me wasn't quite strong. More of the kitsune who was now pursuing me through the woods.

I had heard his conversation of him going in for Ara since he already had Aki in his grasps. Now he was going in for Ara. I had to warn her before he got his hands on her. If he was as old as he implied himself to be none of them could defeat him.

He was fast that was for sure. Dodging literal jets of darkness at me wasn't easy, and with my wolf banging against the mental barrier I had between it and control of my body. It wanted out for it could go after this nogitsune, but I was focused on running.

Everything had fled when I came through with a pissed off nogitsune hot on my tail. I had one focus in my mind and that was arriving at Ara's. I tore off through the woods tumbling through as I tripped. My body flung itself before I caught myself and tore off once more.

And finally Ara's house came into view. The shift tore through me painfully and I hit the ground of Ena's garden completely naked as cuts covered me from the fall. And I looked up catching eyesight of the nogitsune watching me as I stood up.

And then I ran to the door. "Let me in!" I yelled banging on it. Issei was the one who opened it as I surged forth. "Oh Storm— holy shit Storm!" Ara cut off as I fell down. Daiki's eyes snapped up as he watched me collapse onto the tile of the kitchen.

Ara was quick to my side pulling out a blanket and covering it over me as she shooed Issei away since he had no shame in eyeing me up with a cocky smirk on his face. I was stressed as I simply laid my head against the tile. And let out a breath. I was safe. . . for now.

I didn't fit into Ara's clothes, and the only thing of Aki's that fit me was his sleep pajamas resulting in an incredibly tight fitting tank-top on me and lack of bra. Ara's tiny bras definitely wouldn't fit me at all.

"Okay, so your all dressed and now stable, so what the hell happened Storm?" Ara demanded as her eyes met mine and I looked up at her. How was I supposed to tell her some psycho nogitsune was out there planning to snatch her up just like he did to her brother.

I looked at Ara as she watched me expectantly for me to come clean to what had happened that made me come stumbling through covered in cuts and naked as the day I was born. But I had to figure out a safe way to tell her without freaking her out.
