⤚ Rotting Smiles ⤙

Araya

THE asylum never had such a dark murderous air then in a moment such as this one. With a rabid rotting corpse and insane supernatural roaming around out for blood. Thinking death wouldn't touch us while here was a foolish mistake; a naive mistake of mine.

When a screaming man launched himself from the shadows his midriff landed right on Raiden's katana essentially impaling him on it. Eyes widened blood spilled forth from his mouth before Raiden kicked him off of his blade with no hesitation nor emotion in his eyes. Emptiness in them.

I watched him unsure of how to feel at that moment. Raiden glanced back at me. "Lets go." Raiden spoke pushing some of his hair behind his ear as he wiped the blood off of his blade and let it splatter onto the floor before he strided forward as Akiya glanced back at me.

And all I could do was trail behind after them. "Where are we going?" I asked. "Somewhere safe, we need out of this building, but in an efficient way. With all the blood spill here the ghouls from the graveyard are going to be attracted here. Miki can handle it though." Raiden noted.

"She knew the dangers of the graveyard nearby which is why they had a system in it. Of course they made the mistake of no system for the inmates. They'll realize a ghoul is in here soon enough. Once they sound that alarm we go." Raiden spoke and I nodded.

"The plan is a good one. Issei will no doubt go his way or meet us. All we have to do is hit the back of the building. There is cars there and I have a key to one of them. There shouldn't be may flaws to this plan." Raiden spoke.

Shouldn't.

The word wasn't very comforting as I trailed behind the man who is my father. I felt a dark and dangerous pit of anxiety forming within me as we went down the long hallways. Most of them had some sort of room padded for the inmates here as well as a few hangout rooms.

Of course the downstairs room where the supernatural was had none of those. They were too big of a danger to be let out in that way. Although this asylum didn't seem too keen on letting people out. It was like the last resort for the bad people in the world.

The ones who were off their rocker and had to be here due to them being a danger to society. Things such as that. And here we were in the middle of it as alarms blared in the background with inmates having escaped their confinement due to Nightshade.

It was an effective plan as it got everyone distracted, but brought a new dangerous problem up. Escaping without any of them noticing. Raiden halted and motioned for us to stop and I came to a stop as Storm's nostrils flared out and Raiden looked over.

"Blood."

I looked at Storm just as Raiden took a step forward hand on his katana as he peered over the silent hallway where lights flickered and we looked over. A lone girl stood there silently. She was on the ground. Raiden looked concerned just as the head fell. A nogitsune was on the ground.

Pain was etched onto her face as she looked over. "Help!" She screeched and the girls body went still as her hands fell bloody and slowly she looked over and backed away revealing the female nogitsunes organs ripped out. Inside the inmates bloody hands was a huge chunk of flesh.

"Fuck." Raiden cussed out as the inmate stood up her white outfit stained in blood. As she smiled at us, a cruel one with chunks of flesh stuck between her teeth. But it was her milky white eyes that caught my attention as a snarl forced up from Storm's throat and into the air.

The nogitsune was on the ground helpless coughing blood as her katana laid scattered away, her wrist broken at an odd end. The girl with the blood streaming down her outfit watched us as a smirk curled her bloody lips. Blood dripped from her chin as Raiden watched her carefully.
