⤚ Where Next? ⤙
Storm
THERE was no denying the tension in the air as all of us sat at the table with bowls of homemade mac and cheese an American staple food. Something simple that didn't take too long yet kept a calm atmosphere of the familiar taste of childhood.
Even Araya admitted to eating mac and cheese when she was young, but typically it was the boxed type. But now here we sat at the table eating mac and cheese of a blend of all sorts of cheese. Raiden ended up putting more cheese in the sauce then what is required.
Which caused it to be very creamy and cheesy which was nice, that I would admit. With a smile on my face I continued eating the mac and cheese ignoring the tension. Raiden looked over where Daiki was still cuffed up however he had one cuff off to eat.
Raiden was a dick but at least he wasn't inhumane enough to starve Daiki. My stirred thinking that it would no doubt starve Daiki. The wolf wasn't fond of the spirit side of Daiki, correction the wolf despised the spirit side of Daiki. It wanted nothing to do with him.
We continued to eat in silence as I went for seconds and lavished in the taste before the bowls piled up in the small mini sink that was in the suite as Raiden sighed. I looked at Ara before going over to her before they could ignore us any longer.
My mom could be patient, but she wasn't going to be cool with me being gone this long. She has been quite overbearing since the solid year I spent on the streets with no contact not knowing why I was on the streets. She always wanted to know where I was and how I was doing.
I bit my lip. "Ara." I spoke and she turned to me. "Yeah?" Ara asked. "You and Aki need to talk to Raiden about what is happening next. Sitting in this hotel room ignoring it isn't going to work. My mom is worried and Nightshade's is no doubt freaking." I spoke.
"So you guys need to figure it out." I told her. "I'm afraid of what he is going to say. I don't want to leave." Ara spoke her voice breaking a little. "Sitting here isn't going to work either." I reminded her as she looked over at Raiden.
"He makes me nervous." Ara spoke. "He is your dad. You can't be terrified and nervous of him forever." I reminded her and Ara nodded at that. "I know but I just can't help it, he's a thousand years old and could kill me before I could react." Ara spoke.
"But would he?" I asked. Ara shook her head. "Then you need to talk to Aki about this. You two need some sort of stability in your life. Even if it's just something small, knowing what is going to be the game plan will help so much." I told Ara and she nodded.
"I know." Ara whispered. "Go do it then Ara, you'll appreciate it trust me on this." I told her and she nodded before walking over to Aki and getting his attention. He turned to her and I listened in with my enhanced hearing as I sat down and watched them.
"Akiya we need to talk to him about what's going to happen." Ara spoke and Akiya looked at her. "Who?" Aki asked. "Raiden." Ara spoke. "We need to talk to dad?" Aki spoke. Unlike Ara Aki was already calling Raiden dad, but then again he was with him the most.
Even if he was beneath his spirit Aki could still see everything if his spirit allowed him to. It was how it worked. And Aki was no doubt more intune with his spirit then I was with my wolf so he no doubt felt the same as his spirit did where Raiden was concerned.
"We need to talk to him about what is going to happen next." Ara spoke. Aki nodded. "Let's go then." Ara was taken back by how easy Aki was to convince as he walked up to Raiden with little to no hesitation where it was concern and no fear of his father.
